Magicka Warden CC

This post is for solo pvp or small scale where having a cc actually matters.

Magicka Warden ccs do not make any sense. The class revolves around deep fissure. Why is it that the ccs given to use do not synergize with the ability?
The updated Arctic blast is still terrible, the ability lasts only 5 seconds, is super expensive, and requires 3 ticks for the cc. The bigger problem is the ridiculously small radius of 6 meters which makes it completely useless against any ranged player. The tiny range makes it so you have to stay right on top of someone for it to work. Against any decent player you fight will kite you and it will never work. Why give a melee range cc to a class that is not melee? It just doesn’t make sense. The class does not have the mobility or the offensive abilities for this cc to be effective.

Now the change to cliff racer gives an off balance effect if you hit an enemy that is 12 meters or further away, which does not make sense. If I were to weave medium staff attacks with the cliff racer to get the stun, I would have to stay 12 meters away. The further away you are from the enemy the more difficult it is to land a deep fissure. And again any decent player will see that’s my only stun and keep close to me making it useless. Why give a long range stun to a class that is not based on long ranged abilities?

Being forced into vampire just to get a cc is ridiculous, I shouldn't have to explain why.

This leaves us with the only viable stun in my opinion, flame clench. There are 2 huge problems with flame clench. For one it requires a flame staff which buffs single target damage when buffing your aoe damage for deep fissure and northern storm is much more important . Using a lightning staff for the aoe damage buff on magden will always be more effective than a single target damage buff. The second issue is that flame clench knocks the enemy backwards out of your northern storm and deep fissures making it extremely annoying.

My suggestion is to either return the stun to shock clench or give us a class cc that actually synergizes with our class's offensive abilities. On the topic of destructive clench I would also like to know why shock clench lost its stun to begin with. If ZOS doesn’t want spammables to also cc why did flame clench keep its stun? The only classes hurt by the shock clench change were warden and necromancer, neither of which were op. Someone please try to help me understand the logic or put forward some solution.

    Shock Clench lost its stun because when paired with the MAsters Staff you had high burst damage with a CC every 4s. so instead of just reducing the damage/ masters staff, they reduced damage and removed the stun... logic.

    I to think they should add the stun back to clench as them we have the 3 ccs for each staff, knockback, stun and immobilise. and in regards to Arctic Blast, again the pts version missed the mark. Keep Polar with the AoE heal and Dot, and make Blast Single Target again, and speed up projective/ animation.

    They should have just changed master staff instead of clench in the first place. Made master staff increase dot damage instead of initial damage and that would have moved it out of the spammable category. As reach/clench spam wasn't viable without master staff before.

    And I agree on polar. Make it the heal and weak aoe dot. Make artic ranged stun with some frost damage to take advantage of those frost passives.

    The cliff racer change makes no sense. It's another nerf to mag in order to buff/compensate stam.
