A constructive solution

Thiese nerfs to overall dps are short-sighted. If power creep is an issue, how about... buffing the end-game content?
I cant imagine players would be upset about a new challlenge. Players currently struggling with content shouldnt have a problem with this, theyll struggle just as much with the dps nerfs.

The problem with nerfing all these dots you already nerfed last patch is that while they are aimed at pve it also makes them useless in pvp. Remember the last time you had twisting path on your recap?

To be fair, tge devs are doing this to themselves, the doom and gloom is justified. Its not like you didnt forsee this, you did an entire esolive xplaining the patch notes but skipped over the dps nerfs, that was by design and disengenuous(i cant spel?). I expected better of this team. So here is my feedback, feel free to use it or ignore

Buffing end game content so it isn't obsolete due to power creep takes time, effort, and money.

Nerfing DPS due to power creep takes a lot less time, effort, and money.

Look: it's fair to criticize them for their reversal on DoTs. But that was just one aspect of a huge patch that made many improvements to the game: such as scaling back the ridiculous ultimate dump combinations (which was a vast improvement on PvP) and finally giving the restoration staff line an effective non-positional heal.

This current team has done more to address the real issues plaguing this game than the last combat team ineffectively did in years. I also doubt that DoTs will be "useless" in PvP. Considering the damage they are currently doing - I believe they can withstand the nerf.

Also: buffing end-game content is not a solution to "power creep". The whole basis of power creep is that it concentrates too heavily on newer or "end game content" to the point the rest of the content becomes irrelevant or too easy. So buffing end game content further would likely just expand the problems of "power creep". It wouldn't alleviate it.

I have no doubt that's true, but it doesn't factor in the return on investment.

Producing a product that fewer purchased may have cost less, but not always the most profitable business decision.

I suppose we will see. I'll have plenty of time to ponder such things as I run through Cyrodiil because I'm stuck in combat.
