Each new patch is like a [snip] the player base.

The intention of every patch is apparently to change/nerf so many things that players will give up out of frustration. Seems like it would be more graceful to just shut down the server and focus on the next project.

This is your regularly scheduled reminder that the forums are not representative of the majoriry of the playerbase.

Most players carry on just fine each update.

Except it seems to be viagra as player numbers seem to keep growing.
Heck the EU server lit itself on fire due to the sudden influx of new people.

More players doesn't mean anything. I can create an account play 20min and never play again and increase the playerbase. Active players are what is important, you want people to actually play

Lol man console does NOT have a huge player base whoever said this is a godamn lie. Idk how many times I have ran around in majority of the pve zones and it's completely empty, and let's not talk about running around pvp to find a fight. I literally have to go knock on home keeps of other alliances to get a fight. And if you think zerg vs zerg is a fight? That's laughable might as well allow one skill on your bar when fighting zerg vs zerg because buttons hardly ever go off when you do. This isn't directed at you this reply is me agreeing with you.

Many of the nerfs on the current PTS seem a bit much. Hopefully they scale down the nerfs before release.

Maybe you have reading problems. Console you used to have decent amount players but rip that nowdays due these idiotic nerfs and patches + performance issues. I was just laughing at the people who actually bought the rubbish that the game has more players than ever... that is just rubbish.

Anyway.. don't really care what you think. Have a nice day though.

It won't take long and it'll be dead. Been playing a long time and bout done with building characters, getting attached and then ZOS killing them. Just getting old and redundant.
Gonna talk to my guild about leaving game and cancelling ESO plus for something else tbh

It was half a year ago, they added more servers who fixed login queues and overflowing instances.
Looking at steam charts ESO tend to have an dip at this time of the year anyway.

No ESO is not in any danger but all the combat changes will hurt the bottom line.
This is as bad as Morrowind is but without an very popular zone to offset.
And yes most players will notice then it drop unless they have heard about it in guild chat.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

It's called performance increase for a reason. And if people can't adapt its better... The less people there are the better the game will run.

Reducing the player base with 20% will improve server performance.
Dungeon finder to but that is a bit pointless now, have fun in an pug the next two months.

Not more active players, raid guilds breaking up, barely anyone on friends list actually trying to do anything or logging on at all. Sure lot of abandoned new accounts could be created.

The melodrama regarding every patch is exaggerated due to forum hyperbole. They said the same thing about the last patch - and the patch before that - and the patch before that - and the patch before that.... etc.

ESO would have been dead and buried long ago if the forum reactions were an accurate assessment of the player base.

People are understandably resistant to change. It's human nature - and rarely do people like to have their abilities or skills nerfed. But most (not all) of the frustration stems from this endless chase to become the "meta". And while that does make up a significant portion of the forum users - the vast majority of ESO's player base could care less about it. They just want to have fun while they play.

The bottom line: good damage-dealers will still be good damage-dealers regardless after this patch. Yes, they may not be able to score as high on those all important DPS meters. But if this change improves the quality of the game play then that is a small price to pay.

That may be. But I am sure as hell not going to play anything else made by this company. ESO is/was enough.
