Repeated requests --> repeatable quests (inc. dungeon "story mode")

Suppose dungeon quests were repeatable. Then:
  • Someone who rushed through the story the first time through could come back later and repeat it in full.
  • Somebody who kindly tolerated a group member doing the quest would get an additional reward for doing so.

And since ZoS has turned one-time quests into repeatable ones in the past, we can be confident that this would take relatively little development effort on their part.

Or it'd be just extra loot for the people who will just continue to rush through it.
They need a proper SOLO story mode for people who want to enjoy the story.
Or at the very least not auto-remove you when you are the only party member left. That way you can parachute in help when you need it and people don't have to stay.

So since it's been so toxic in Dungeons and people can't finish their Quest let's reward the toxicity by then making it a repeatable quest that gives loot to you now no thank you

Taking time to do/enjoy each dungeon’s quest doesn’t sit well with rushing through trying to do normal daily random dungeons on a bunch of characters..

When Wrathstone came out and ZOS tried to make storylines even more of a dungeon thing, my guild organised ‘slow’ dungeon runs where people could do the normal dungeons in ‘story’ mode, taking time to go through the quest at an appropriate pace. It worked really well and was very popular.

I am hoping that the development of a new group finder would let players specify ‘story mode’ so they could be grouped with others who want to do the dungeons slowly and do the quest.

Alternatively, you just find a guild or friend who wants to do the quests and you’ll never get kicked...

The quests themselves don’t benefit from repeated playing and the idea that I should have to be be rewarded simply for being decent enough to enable another player to actually do them is repugnant... you’d have to be a pretty crappy human if that was your mindset.

If you're doing a quest, just mention that in the group chat. People will understand.
I always do it like that when I play with pugs and until now everyone has always been nice and comprehensive.

I agree completely with that part.

That's my experience too, but other people report having it worse.

And sometimes their impatience shows, so I either miss a step in the quest or rush unpleasantly to keep up.

Here's a thread, started today, by somebody not nearly as lucky as you are.

So, I've been experiencing this a lot lately on either new dungeons or dungeons I have just somehow never had the chance to get into..

I'll be in a group, doing the dungeon and it's possible I'm the only person doing the quest. We complete the dungeon, the quest marker says to "talk to so and so" after sitting through some NPC dialogue with eachother. The problem is, at least 3 times now, my groupmates (all PUGs) have left the group by this point to continue on their journey - and the system gives me the little circle countdown telling me I'm being removed from the dungeon because I'm not in a group, and therefore I don't get to complete the quest. The next time I go into that dungeon, the entire instance has been reset and I have to complete the quest all over again.

How long did that last though?
New people coming into the system have to look really hard to find the same for what is now older content. IF people even want to do a lot of the DLC dungeons which are a PITA even on Normal. Like Mighty Chudan doing 35k with basically no telegraph. That's on Normal.

I did end up finding a guild that supposedly did story runs but 9 days out of 10 when you ask for help the already small active membership doesn't respond.

ZOS should stop wasting their time putting books and too much dialog in dungeons and tell stories in a way that lets you keep moving.
That won't fix older content though and they are clearly loathe to revisit things.

Maybe they could give us a story mode where you get to use dev insta-kill functions to bypass fight mechanics. But you'd still need to get around mechanics like pulling two switches (which could theoretically also be bypassed by increasing the time window during which the switches need to be pressed). Which makes me wonder if they also have a tool for that in order to show dungeons on preview.

The dungeon stories play out every time you go through the dungeon, you can chat with the NPCs if you want, they will give you their lines whether you have the quest or not.

And in the DLC dungeons, you can grab the quest at the beginning and listen to all the dialog branches, then come back later and do the quest.

That's an easy one, assuming you're asking about the last reason she gives, and not the whole list. :) But I've duoed that dungeon with my wife recently, so I even know why the general agreed to "Clivia's" request.

    Very nice!

I just love that dungeon. That and Mazzatun have my favourite dialogue.

The line you referenced is one of my favorites in all the dungeons I've done. Indeed, it might be second only to "If I want to be wrong, I'll ask for your opinion."
