It could be the quest on an alt, and the player has run the dungeon numerous times.

So, I'll chose an option not listed.

I'd communicate back and ask them if they've experienced this dungeon before. If not, I'd explain mechanics at each boss when applicable. And I'd give the player a chance at trying.

as someone who just finished this quest after having it on my quest log for over a month (i totally forgot i still had it until someone in my group said they're doing the quest lol) i'd help them complete the quest the 3 bosses don't have any special mechanics AFAIK so it shouldn't be a problem on vet

You didn't list "You've forgotten to do some part of the quest on this alt the last 20 times and proceeds to forget again.."

Like, honestly, all of my fully leveled alts have breezed through and most haven't finished the quest because there are so many places to forget to do the quest...

Some of my characters have never seen a normal dungeon. Lately if I level a character I will play without CP until 50, then skill up, slap on some gear, and burn through the vets for Undaunted Mettle. I have one character that beat vMA before getting UD7.

Interesting! I think that's the first actual reason I've heard for doing the quests on Vet, but now that you explained that makes a lot of sense.

I never run any new character on normal. I usually already have gold gear and build ready to go as soon as I hit 50. Then I hit the vet dailies for undaunted and quest skills points

Always killing all bosses and helping with quests if smn has it. That's not difficult so see no reason for not doing this.

Regardless of the dungeon, and especially when we’re doing well as a group, I like to randomly “vote to kick” one of the party members.

Can’t have them thinking they’re special.

Just go do the dungeon quest on normal. Most dungeons can easily be completed by one or two DPS with self heals on normal. In the case of Direfrost the mechanic is meant for two.

This is cursed dungeon, chance to get toxic and inadequate pugs is abnormally high, times higher then in any other dungeon.

3 of my fellow guildies picked up a pug for Vet Direfrost who informed us he needed to do the quest. We all responded, “Sure, no problem” and proceeded through without a hitch. He didn’t spend a lot of time with the NPC dialog, and it wouldn’t be a big problem if he did. It doesn’t take all that much to show someone a bit of courtesy.

Just did it yesterday, my group of randoms was totally cool about it.

Didn’t take more than a minute to do the 3 flame mini-bosses.

Everyone had fun.

And if you’re worried about your group facing Drodda and not noticing the break free mechanic, her apprentice, the optional boss, has exactly the same mechanic. So you can ensure everyone’s ready for the final boss.

Also, offer to do the optional boss at the right side of the stairs after the fire pit, if they need it. In fact, I did just that in a vet run yesterday. It takes 2 extra minutes, if that, and you're helping out someone with the tediousness of levelling undaunted, which you also had to level at some point (or will have to, if you make a new character). I don't get the stinginess. If you despise doing these bosses so much, it's a dps issue :P
