Make Empowering Sweeps Useful (hint, hint, replace empowered)

Hi ZOS, it would be great if you could actually make this ultimate useful to Stamplars to broaden the base of available, viable ultimates. Idk why you took major protection off this and gave it empowered instead. This is perhaps one of the most useless buffs. This is such a great ult but the physical damage morph is kind of a joke next to the magicka morph. Im so bored of always building around DBoS or Onslaught. There's a lot of ways to make this useful and the idea of a bit of upfront burst with the dot synergizes nicely with PoTL and both direct damage and dot play styles. But the fact remains, empowered is just really a nothing buff. Either that or make Crescent Sweeps scale do physical or mag damage, whichever is higher, like Soul Trap. And then return Empowered Sweep to the defensive morph also scaleable off the highest stat.

New idea: add minor berserk instead of empowered.

Posting this in the PvP forum because that's where this will get used.

I had an idea that Gilliam and I liked that gave the other morph of remembrance major berserk and healing... kinda like different version of corrosive..... they decided to go with giving light attacks an 8 second buff instead.

The fact that this is the only melee direct dmg ult without cast time doesn’t make it good enough for you?

That would be *** awesome. Well, I assume Templars are the patch after next so maybe we will see something like that.

Lmao. It’s actually not bad as an ult tbh. I’ve been messing around with it lately. But it just lacks the punch of other ults, including class ults, because of that wasted empowered buff. But I really like the AoE component. It can be a fantastic 1/2vX tool. My brother plays Magplar so we get two sweeps up and that hurts then we can come in with puncturing sweeps+reverse slice. Also the additional chance of procing burning light and it’s 75 ult which makes it really a unique skill. I hadn’t even looked at it really until I went over to magplar for a bit and I was like damn crescent sweeps is dope. Actually something like minor beserk would make a great buff for it.

I don't think it needs changing right now.

It was one of the only burst Ultimates that got away with them not adding a cast time to it...

All Ultimates scale off your highest stat. I think you may mean give all Ultimates either Physical or Magical damage, whichever is higher.

And yet DBoS and Onslaught both still offer much higher damage with strong secondary effects and are better even with cast time. Also the whole cast time thing was just so stupid. It made combat clunky without solving any of the “problems” and I say that sarcastically because the only issue was in the minds of people who did not know how to pay.

That was great although I can see where 6 seconds +2 for each enemy is too much. Also I personally would like to keep some more offensive buff on it I think. Although major protection is a cool tool for medium builds.

Crescent sweep already scales off of your highest stat like all other ults. It doesn't scale with the CPs that stamplars usually have though.

"Instant" on the tooltip does not mean instant in reality.

Yeah sorry bad wording I’ll change it. I mean it should do phys or mag damage whichever is higher.

But Templars already have Major Protection on another Ultimate.

And we know classes can't have redundant buffs - see Nightblade with Minor Maim and Major Expedition.
