ZoS needs to explain that any class is allowed to do any role

I was in normal Imperial City prison with three 300 cps on my nightblade healer, wearing Olorime and infallible I was using Funnel Health, Refreshing Path and wall of elements. One of them was a nightblade and he tells the others that our healer is a dps that wanted to jump the queue he knows because I’m using damage skills and I’m a nightblade. At this point we’re already at the Flesh Abomination the only time someone died was on the Gravelight Sentry and that was because the tank pulled before everyone was through the gate and being 300s they don’t know to look behind them and use the portal, so one of them was dead that whole fight and I couldn’t resurrect him. I didn’t have my mic in so I had no time to explain that my skills are for healing and I’m definitely a healer and.... I got kicked. It was just normal if I was queued in as a dps I wouldn’t kick someone who queued as a healer that wasn’t, because it’s normal you don’t even need a healer.

This just made me annoyed because ZoS keeps saying that they want every class to be able to do every role, but how can we do that if we still get kicked from dungeons for being our class playing that role.

The activity finder just sucks, you as 300ish keep on going is good experience, later you really not use it anymore as it stinks, chips happen, keep ongoing do what you want to do.

Things that TES players naturally comprehend is unfathomable to your average MMO player.

I know. but I think they should at least have it in the class description when you make a character, it should say this class can use powerful blood magic to heal their allies or they can be Shadow Knights to hold bosses and take the damage for their group.

Bet you wish you'd plugged in your mic, eh? :) I'm only half kidding. I play on PC and only use voice with pre-made groups, usually guildies or friends. But I do use text chat, and it annoys me when people don't greet, don't say whether they know tactics, don't respond to tips, and basically play along as if they were still soloing, only with 3 other toons to make their life a bit easier.

ZOS did make it clear every class can play every role, in the Skill Advisor.

But of course, you can only see the Skill Advisor builds for your current class.

The more classes you play, the more you learn about those classes work in the different roles. So, the more experienced players get at the game, the more they come to understand that off-meta builds can be effective...but that doesn't guarantee that they have to patience to let that off-meta build prove themself. ZOS can't really teach patience.

It sucks you got kicked. They missed out on a good healer. Their loss.

I mean I would’ve said hello if anyone else did. The first thing that was said in the dungeon was about me not being a healer.

Why did you need to clarify you were a healer? Surely the presence of heals would be enough to remove any doubt.

I'm not sure any of your post actually indicates a role vs class bias in the group, aside from the assumption that if a player is putting out dps they might not be a healer. Could it be you're maybe over analysing the situation and you were simply kicked because they decided you were just a bad healer...

I'm not saying youre a bad healer, and they sound like a sucky bunch. I've been in low groups that practically suicide and blame the healer.

Well I know it’s because I was a Nightblade, there was another nightblade in the group who saw me using Funnel Health, Refreshing Path and wall of elements, he said to the other group members look he’s using damage skills, I was also lightning staff heavy attacking because of infallible,
I don’t know how it is on PC but on console people will kick you in a normal dungeon because you’re a “fake healer” or “fake tank” you don’t deserve that spot and you were just trying to jump the queue.

I know it wasn’t the healing because I’ve healed all of the hard mode DLC dungeons, vSS, vMoL, vHoF, vAS and vBRP.
I’ve never had this happen to me on my Warden or my Templar, it’s happened on my Sorc and Nightblade a couple of times.

No matter what ZOS says, you can't convince people that don't want to be convinced.

The situation you described is a player problem not a ZOS problem. Good (or even average) players know it doesn't take much to 4 man ICP on normal. Honestly, I'd be happy if my healer was pulling a bit of dps in there as well. I wouldn't consider you a fake healer, but some people only want the things they consider "normal".

Short version is this. Puglets are for amusement value only. If you actually want people to hang with, have fun with and get things accomplished, group with friends and guildmates. Having any expectations of the puglets will only lead to disappointment.

Since ICP is a longer dungeon, when I queue on my healer, I slot a few DPS skills to get things moving along faster. If I got kicked for doing this, I would laugh my butt off. I've solo healed Vet Trials, I absolutely am a true healer, I just don't have time for sub par DPS, and want to get things done faster.
