Firstly I do both PVE (daily's and overland content not group dungeons) and spend the rest of my time as a casual soloer in Cyrodiil.
I started with Stamina as pretty much every game I play a sword and board character (EQ/EQ2/WOW etc) but over the years have played both styles in order to learn the strengths/weaknesses of the class.
I am not a meta chaser, I don't give a toss (to quote Mr Boycott) about YouTube muppets, I honestly play how I want to so if your looking for comparisons down to a 00000000.00001% dps - jog on.
Soooo I used to do a Cyrodiil campaign stamina then switch to Magic just for the fun but there are big differences in play style.
I'm not the worlds best PvPer, I do it for fun so my load outs tend to be flexible and based on support, my views on both styles:
Stamina
You will find with this style that you wont be using many class ability's, only Hurricane, Dark Deal and Bound Armour may be of any use. If your using a two hander (afterall stamina is an 'in your face' spec I suggest you do) you will be torn between Rally and Crit Surge.
You will feel generic, all your other skills will be taken up with weapon slots.
For range the Bow will be your choice and whilst its probably the only way now we have an effective stun, it doesn't feel the same as a destruction staff.
Don't underestimate the new Vigor with a stamina build, its amazing but lack of magic will *** up your cleanse if you use it.
If you like sneaking around stamina is amazing with Dark Deal as it doesn't break sneak.
Magic
Every time I play Stamina I wish I was magic, why? because of the utility.
Sorcerer's were designed to be a magic class, look at all the passives in the skill lines, then look at all the different utility skills we get from mines to shields/dots/AOE/unblockable stuns (rune/streak) then add in all the utility the destruction staff adds!
Yes we get a bonus to physical and shock damage but we have way more shock skills.
You will find that you are now using more of your class skills and benefitting more from the skill line passives.
Add Innate Axiom and Netch's Touch and you can have some fun.
Overall I just prefer to have fun and Magic enables me to change the way I play (I even run pets once in a while for solo dungeon runs) and adapt to situations better, I'm sure stamina is the stronger PvP build up close but with a *** load of dots magic is a great support class and I can melt you from distance.
Be safe

ZOS also announced that they are going to be nerfing DoTs. So Stamina will go back to it previously oppressive state. Unless of course you are fighting from within a zerg.
Just look at what all the famous streamers plays. None of them stream themselves playing Magicka while 1 v Xing, it's always a stamina spec. There is a distinct reason for that. That I feel no need to bring up.
