Low damage output Dragonknight?

So I have been playing as a dragonknight for a while as a tank.

But when playing in the dungeons every one can take out a enemy in a single hit but me hardly any damage.

Am I doing something wrong with how I spend my points or is the Dragonknight more of a tanked based class?

Dragonknights do great damage if you build them right. As a tank you will not do any damage.

Any class can do damage, you just have to build them a certain way.

When you have a good healer, then, yes, it will look like the dds are not taking any damage. Also, higher level toon/players with the right build and CP allocation, they can practically run the normal non-dlc dungeons without taking much damage. DLC ones and vet; well, that is a different story.

For the most part, any class can perform any role (tank, healer, DPS).

Of course some classes are better at certain roles, because of their class toolkit - but that only makes any real difference in veteran/hardmode and DLC content.
For example DKs are great at tanking, Templars and Wardens are great at healing.

But with the right build, you can easily deal decently high damage as a DK. Just not while tanking at the same time :)
Use "offensive" sets and enchants, and slot suitable offensive abilities.
Remember to allocate CP appropriately, it makes quite a difference.

What are you in atm? those stats aren't great.
I would suggest you have 4 sets at hand

Craft hundings rage plus chose one of

Nightmothers gaze (crafted), spriggans thorns (overland or buy it), leviathan ( COH which you are already grinding) briarheart

So when you aren't tanking you can still kill stuff

    2 of
Plague doctor ( buy it or grind it) Dragon gaurd ( overland buy or grind), torugs pact with a crushing enchanted lightning staff (crafted) , fortified brass
In fact almost anything as long as your health is over 35k and your bringing something to the group

The most frustrating thiing as a beginner tank in normal dungeons is going to be that someone is going to suck, the dps or the healer or the tank.

    Ps
I am not that experienced myself as a tank but i wonder if in normal dungeons it might be worth running plague or brass on your body making sure your above 35k health and running a dps set on your jewelry and weapons, boosting the dps of pug normies is unreliable.

Maybe a more experienced tank could comment

Also although dks make good dds as well esp stam
And at the moment mag but dots are getting nerfed next patch so magdk is likely to go back to near the bottom again.

So you can slap on stuff from the first selection put your health to between 17 and 20k (with food) dump the rest into stam and go nuts

If you are trying to transition your tank into a damage-dealer you may want to try replacing that with Hunding's Rage. That was an accessible set a friend of mine who played as a staminia DPS really seemed to like.

But I personally wouldn't recommend trying to "kill two birds with one stone" on your tank. Doing good damage in group content - especially the higher end Vet stuff - requires a real focus on doing damage. So in order to get your tank high enough damage to quickly dispatch even regular dungeon monsters would probably require too much of a shift away from your actual tanking potential. But that's just my 2 cents.

There are a lot players out there who do play offensive tanks and seem to enjoy it. So I'm not saying it isn't possible.

I’m assuming everyone is talking about vet/hard dungeons? I’m a magdk and mostly dps, but queue as tank all the time. My armor and healing abilities allow me to withstand more, i’ve never died/failed a normal dungeon..

I am lvl 30 and crafting is expensive, so i get all my gear from dungeons. Can’t do that when the wait time is over 40 MINUTES, while as a tank it took less than 10 seconds. If i wanted to play a long waiting game i’d go back to Ark survival

I’d rather dole out a very small inconvenience (if it’s even that) to 3 people i’ll never meet again instead of waiting a whole freaking hour. It all comes down to competency. Just aggro the boss and spam heals, you’ll be fine. Everyone’s angry because the average player sucks and expects to be carried. I at least pull my weight

Fake tanking is queuing as a tank without using a taunt to hold boss aggro.

You can tank normal dungeons in a DD build as long as you slot a taunt to hold boss aggro.

If you are going to tank, tank. Especially in veteran DLC dungeons. Leave the damage dealing to the DPS.

As a DPS, nothing is better or more appreciated than a good tank. Keep the boss and adds still so we can kill them. That is how a tank kills things in dungeons faster.

If you plan on pugging a lot as a tank I recommend you work on alternative ways to heal yourself. Depending on pug healers can be a risky business. There are some really good ones out there. But there are a lot of really bad ones out there too.

Hit igneous/fragmented shield and pop green dragon blood should be all the healing you need. Youre better of usually with 3 dps and tank in pretty much any dungeon.
