The upcoming Sunspire motif has a missing dye channel. The laces and the mesh on the shoes are not part of any of the dye channels and stay red all the time (see screenshot).

It would be nice if we could dye these as the motif is otherwise fantastic.

That's actually part of the design. The red stays on all the pieces; much like the brown / brass trim on the anequina / pellitine sets.

Every motif has an accent colour. The only difference with other motifs is you can change that colour to whatever you want.

The problem with some of these recent motifs is that they are designed with 4 dye channels in mind, but the game only supports 3.

If they are going to make a habit out of releasing motifs like this one, it would be nice if they added a fourth dye channel. Having huge portions of a motif locked to a specific colour significantly reduces the value of the motif for someone who likes to create their own outfits (which is a fairly large chunk of the player base). I was planning on grabbing this from the crown store when it came out as it would be cheaper than buying all the pages separately in the first few days (the full set from the CS would cost me 450k gold versus 1 million+ from in-game farmers). But now that I'm only going to be using the gloves, I'll just buy that page from in-game farmers.

Correct, every armor style has an accent color; some of them even appearing to have two with one not being an option to dye in the alleged "missing" fourth channel.

Also, having more than one accent isn't a new thing with armor motifs and even crown store costumes.

The Daedric Style motif has been around since 2014, most channels are open and can be dyed. In the screen shot below you'll see the first channel is in black which appears to be the main part of the metal, the second channel is in gold which appears to be the metal accent color and the third channel is in red which appears to be the cloth. On two pieces in the heavy set (chest and feet) there is a secondary accent that cannot be dyed (brown straps.)

There are also some channels in the set that cannot be dyed simply because some pieces do not have a metal piece, cloth or accent, which in this case the shoulders have no cloth.

Moving on to the Huntsman Style motif, the heavy chest, hands, legs and feet have all three channels available to dye and the accent is the third channel (minor cloth pieces) as you can see in my screenshot.

It's quite obvious the main accent is the bone and fur but it cannot be dyed (within reason) which leaves me to believe this is a particular design choice and not a bug, thus the point I'm trying to make. However, only a developer can actually clarify this.

I was going to buy this motif too, but I'm not keen on the red accents staying the same either. Also, I don't disagree with you on the subject entirely, a fourth channel would be nice to have so we can dye those unique accents to our liking, or at the very least have it for an indicator showing that some accents cannot be dyed like how it is with missing pieces.
