suddenly high ping everywhere...

Hey, anyone else got a high ping since yesterday evening? Everywhere I go I get around 200 ping - with everywhere i mean pve zones and trials.
It shouldn't be on my end, I did several ping tests, everything looks normal. I didnt change anything, latency became that bad from one moment to the other...

I usually dont have ping problems in pve (cyro is a different story ofc). This is ruining the questing and dungeon/trials experience. Can you please look into this ZOS?

I assume your ping test is something like Speedtest. Unfortunately that does not test everything between you and Zos. In other words it may or may not be something Zos has sway over.

Yeah that's true, but my connection to Zos was good the last 3 years, now suddenly I get that high ping all the time while standing in an almost empty city. Maybe it's due to the event, but that started today - not yesterday, right? I'm super worried at the moment. I try to stay away from primetime PvP cause of the lag, what am I gonna do now when everything is lagging always? :-(

If you would ever get answer from ZoS, it would be a written script about how you should fix your computer.

The best way to test your ping to ZOS server is to install Pingplotter and enter server's IP adress.
    For EU it is: 195.122.154.1

ye sorry guys, i know noobs wont understand but if youre in a godslayer group and you need to do 80k single target dps on fireboss then 200ms become a problem..especially if youre not used to it.

    pc eu by the way

The issue with this is that a lot of the latency time that shows up on the in-game meter is server induced. It typically adds 50-100ms or more if conditions are bad. So you might ping the servers and it could show up as 80 or 100 but in game you’ll get anywhere from 130 to thousands. Only some people are luck enough to stay at 100 or lower.

Did pathping show any packet loss along the way?

I was having an issue with intermittent ping spikes on my previous "fast" connection. I saw some potential issues in the pathping report, so I chose to switch my ISP rather than deal with their tech support (again). Changing ISP solved my problem, so maybe see if there is anything your ISP can do on their end.

Yep I feel your pain. Sometimes I will get a connection of 89ms to 105ms. However, after a few minutes it spikes to 121, 550, 780, 999 (dungeons). Then it really gets bad..550, 999, 1400, 15000ms. The connection to Dallas,TX isn’t bad at all 60 ms is about average. It gets bad after connecting to the server. My ips is Suddenlink.

    Cheers🍺

For the last few days I have the weirdest ping spikes going from 100 up to 750 in matter of seconds. This is not just in trials it is in houses, world everywhere. Is there anything i can do on my end or is this just a ZOS server issue, making it so bad that when they say we fixed something I will just be happy with anything? lol

Might be an addon, at least it was in my case - action duration reminder - gave me high ping (never thought that would be possible^^)..
..but now it's fixed and everything is gucci.

Try disabling addons and see if it changes your ping.

You probably were a bad boy and were placed into that black list of 20% of players who are low priority for server, and so we have all those cool screen freezes, lag spikes and so on, despite fact that there is nothing like that in other games on same PC/connection and there was nothing like that in ESO before April-May.
ESO is aggressively marketed and attracts new whales, so old players are randomly selected to be handled by server like 3rd class citizens, so only solution is - don't play in peak hours. Yeah, 90% of raids are in peak hours... but you may probably try to find guild which runs earlier or something like that.

I am also having a high uncertain ping recently. I am from South East Asia region and play in PC/NA server.

Before Elsweyr launched, my ping was always around 250ms to 300ms. I can complete my dungeon, trial or join alliance PVP in a way that i still feel comfortable and enjoyable with.

As of now, the ping is uncertain. Like others says, it spikes up and down (300, 550, 300, 780, 999+ ms) especially in dungeon. This hardly happen to me before September 2019.

PVP is unplayable for me now. Most of the time, when there is an alliance fight (even though just a small fight), I notice when my character go near to the fight, my character will start to move abnormally fast. Haha, this is where i can see all other players (foes or friends) just standing still. The next thing after maybe 30 second, i am back to Login screen. (Btw, I have disabled all addons)

I have been playing ESO for the past 2 years without any VPN. Early of this year, I experience a much better latency & fps compare to last year. But now, I experience a worsening latency compare to last year.

I hope ESO team can take note of this problem. Because other games that i play still look fine to me.
