No. Weapons drop on vet and a weapon is guaranteed. But the bow itself is not a guarantee.

Does it drop on the last boss or do all rounds count as a possibility for the bow?

Only on the last boss and each of your party members has a chance of getting one. So you have four chances per run, provided your group is willing to give it to you.

It's random. But since it's 4-man content, you can ask someone to give/sell it to you if they get it.

I think the average for vMA weapons is 40 runs (vMA is a solo arena). So with 4 people in vDSA, maybe 10 runs for one person to get it? That's assuming you can get that person to give/sell it to you.

But there are plenty of people to get their weapons on their first run, while others need over 100 runs. It's all RNG at the end of the day.

Dragonstar arena has 10 stages, stages can have rounds (waves of enemies) and the final round of each stage is a boss fight, except the last stage, last stage is just a boss round. On veteran, you have guaranteed master weapon when beating the final boss. The length in time depends on your group - you might end up being there for several hours.

If all 6 master sets are weighted the same, you have 1 in 6 change of getting the bow personally, which there's a ~52% chance for someone in your group to get a bow.

My biggest problem stage was the graveyard one. Final boss is easy with a self sustaining tank. I tanked it in Torugs and Plague. Wish I had my leeching complete at that time.

Well these days vDSA is not that hard to be even pugged from zone chat. Players with decent experience and knowledge of game can clear it fine if not easy. Unless vMA 1 inexperienced player can be carried as long as he is a DD. Carrying a Tank is painfull though 😉.

Hey Fetito I know you were asking around about beginner DPS gear so just FYI vDSA is not easy. With a decent group with near BiS gear it will probably take around 2 hours providing your tank and healer knows the last stage really well. Otherwise you’re looking at anywhere from 3+ hours to never finishing. Each DPS needs to output at least 25k dps consistently and they have the easy roles. You will also need to follow a guide for basic mechanics and there are little tricks for certain stages that most guides don’t mention. I’m not saying don’t do it I’m just letting you know it’s not particularly easy especially if you’re just learning the ropes for DPS.

Even with beginner gear though, you can still get to a point where are able to quickly clear it. It just takes a bit of practice.

I cleared vDSA for the first time earlier this week and both me and a friend got a bow. Traded mine for a resto staff I needed to someone and my friend gave me theirs. But good luck getting yours!

Thanks for the "warning". That's why I'll try the arena when I am on vacations because after 11 hours of office time my reflexes are suboptimal. By the way, I've obtained the "Stamina Dragonknight 2H Build PvE DPS" Gear Setup 3 and I am missing one piece to obtain setup 2 (except the bow).

I am a patient player. Once I complete the setup 2 (except the bow) and my vacations start, I'll try to obtain the bow with a lot of patience.

Just make sure to have a tank who knows how to handle the last level otherwise it’s not possible.

Maybe side bar but being 4 man content, it would be awesome if the weapon drops were always at least 1 melee, 1 range, 1 support and 1 random.

    You mean 1 s&b, 1 ice staff, 1 guaranteed 2-hander and another random 2-hander?

I am necroing my own thread: Does beating the normal version of DA help me to understand better the veteran one?

I rather try to resolve the arena on normal several times before I go unprepared into vet.
