Bored with Stamina (for now) Returning to Magicka

As the title implies I've gotten burned out with stamina game play for now and want to return to magicka for awhile. I have the following magicka characters maxed out with BIS gear; which is performing best right now for PVE?

Pick the character you have as Stamina, and respec him/her.
You might need to level the skills, but easily done these days with just few random normal dungeons and few quests & dark anchors you haven't done yet.

Y no magden? By far the most fun mag class to play.

I created a magplar in the PTS and got 76k on my first parse on the iron atro by mashing buttons rather cluelessly, so it seems pretty strong.

Either magplar or go sorc. Unbreakable CC effects, 28 meter javelin, purge, heals, dots. Templars were blessed to not be hit by the standardization on many fronts.

Sorc > magblade imho. Cloak gets countered and nightblades don't have much going.

In addition to shields and mobility. With everyone going DoT crazy, mages wrath will be absolute supreme in this meta.

Meteor, rune, channeled and destructive reach?

No MagDK or Magcro? I think those are the best 2 mag classes at the moment.

Magicka Templar is the strongest class spec this patch due to the fact that single-target DoTs are at their strongest right now and it also helps that the Templar's execute is a single target DoT. Templars also have a class purge, which is an essential tool in PvP right now.

Magblades are only viable if you using them strictly for zerg bombing as Proximity Detonation got a massive buff and is now very effective in killing zergs pouring through keep doors or the narrow streets of Imperial City. Other than this niche build, Nightblades are garbage along with Sorcerers this patch.

mDK comes with its own Major Sorcery too. And for pve people will love all your group centered buffs and skills

Magdk was pretty underutilized until the recent patches but now it’s come into its own, try it out it’s amazing fire breathing fun.

The overly simple rotation is one reason why I was happy to shelf my magplar. Back then it was just spam jabs until execute phase then spam laser (you could literally watch a show or prepare dinner during the execute phase).

Granted, now every class has the same rotation.
