I'm still only a few months into this game, but does the 15pack crate going on sale mean we're getting fresh crates soon?

    No, crates are usually once per quarter ... so approximately two more months on the current Baandari series.

    The Showcase is usually the first (non-holiday) weekday of the month, although in some cases we have gotten it early at the very end of the previous month instead.

    September 1 is a Sunday, and the 2nd is Labor Day, so I would expect to see it on the 3rd at the latest. It’s possible we get it early on the 30th or later the week of the 2nd, though.
