What race do you use for your Magicka Sorcerer?

I'm curious about what race people chose. I chose an Altmer, but I find myself not playing it much. I like the class skills and have fun playing it sometimes, but I think I'm not feeling the Altmer's physical appearance. I know it must have the highest overall spell damage, but I’m considering race changing it to a Dunmer for the Stamina. If I don’t feel cute before a fight then I’m not fighting anyone.

• How come you chose your race? (ANY reason)
• Have you previously race-changed? Did you see a difference?
• If you chose Dunmer/Khajiit, would you flip it to Stamina?

(I previously made a thread on this, but recreated because I accidentally submitted before adding more options).

Dunmer (Dark Elf)

Mag + stam racial bonus + shacklebreaker (more stam and mag) + bright throat for the recovery and using double mara. On a breton you might use spring infusion (less health and mag)for the stam or use stam glyphs and is the best choice for pvp CP enable
Good spell damage as altmer.
With Mag sorc shield nerfs you should use more roll dodge and dunmer is a good choice (also to have stam for break free). As i reply in another post, stam pool is a key element for magsorc on pvp, especially in noCP
I have 4 magsorc: dunmer, altmer, breton and khajiit and the dark elves are my first choice by far.

Dunmer just because I wanted to create a Telvanni wizard mage. Actually, I have two Dunmer sorcerers, one magicka and one stamina. I take the racial passives into consideration but mostly I just create what I like in character concept. I wouldn’t race change any of my characters but I have frequently deleted and recreated if something didn’t feel right. I try to be sure before progressing beyond level ten.

I was Dunmer but found I can reach 10k ward, 20k rapid regen, and about 26k resistances on Nord so currently leveling that. This is all no-Cp btw.

When I made my sorc @ release, she was Dunmer, then a while ago I got a free race change token and switched her to Altmer. Then as soon as I got some more free race change tokens I switched her back to Dunmer and switched my Dunmer Templar to Altmer. If you're going Vamp, Dunmer is the way to go. I babble 😊

Alter when I first made. The. I realized they gave everyone tokens and change a lot so I changed to brenton much better sustain. I was able to switch from astronauch to mage and from clockwork expensive gold food to bloody mara. So yes, less spell damage but a lot more max Magica so damage balances out and sustain better overall.

Am catto. I like Khajiit, and I frankly just hate the elven races of ESO. Bretons are just boring as well. She used to be Argonian, but as soon as Khajiit were made viable magicka dps, I race changed her.

A Breton, made when the game was young, and two Altmers, played over the Breton back when Altmer was the clearly better choice.

Now I don't play any of them much, although I'm going to give a try to Update 23 sorcerer healing .

Ahhh...Dark Elf would give you no more sustain than a High Elf.

The way I think of it:

Altmer class benifits = similar to 5 peice bonus on julianos set / 300 spell damage

Brenton class benicit = 5 peice bonus on seducer. Reduce cost of spells by 7% yes 1 percent diff

With sustain being hard for sorc now. I like brenton better

Altmer really is a no brainier. Dark deal makes the extra stam regen into extra mag regen (or break free, roll dodge)

My main is a Dunmer for PVE. Had originally made it a Dunmer and then race changed to High Elf when I was attempting to maximize for some vet trial progressions. But I switched back to Dunmer the moment I stopped with that. The added stam is useful.

Now, my PVP magsorc is a high elf because I love having a bit more damage and max mag and I can make up stamina with tri-stat food.

Spell recharge is very good on magsorc, espacially if you use dark deal. Everytime you use class skill you restore 650 atamina with 6secs cooldown and while casting an ability, you have 5% dmg reduction. Dark deal uses stam and is a cast time skill, perfect for the passive.

In PvE maybe their old passives were better, but for PvP they are in a perfect spot right now.

I've 5 characters on my new account and except one all are Nord, Mag or Stam alike.

On my Magwarden for example, I get 39k mag 16k stam 23k health 2.9k buffed SPD 1900 mag recovery and to top this 30k + resistances.

I do not play sorcerer much, but my magsorc is High Elf. The race passives seems to be good for sorc, the old ones and the new ones.

Nope. I'm serious. It's very unpredictable, and I don't notice the small benefit it gives anywhere near as much as I notice Breton cost reduction or the extra stamina on a Dunmer.

I picked Dunmer because I went vamp and wanted the fire resistance to balance it out. I haven’t even been tempted to change. In PvP she goes more of a support damage dealer, and PvE still does a crapload of pet damage. I don’t have to be the top DPS.

Maybe it's because i started with stamina classes (now i almost exclusively play magicka ones) but i tend to roll dodge quite a bit and not rely too much on shields. Since the last racial changes i've noticed that i don't run out of stamina anymore, which is what truly kills you, unless i get zerged down.
The extra stamina from dunmer is just that, if you run out of it and get CCed then it's game over for you. Stamina recovery is always a better option along with tri stat food. This is why all my magicka characters except 2 are altmers.
