Calculating Increase in Damage from Weapon Damage

Is it possible to calculate the percent increase in damage you get from the amount of weapon damage you add to a build? For example, provided my opponent has at least 2752 in resistances, I am under the impression that I will see a ~4% increase in damage when using sharpened without considering any other calculations (major/minor protection, vulnerability, cp, 2h maul, etc...). Is there a way to calculate this for weapon damage?

Edit: Just want to throw in a better example. Let's say I know a target will have 33k resist. I am deciding between going with 13,200 extra flat penetration vs 1,320 extra weapon damage. Assuming they are not using any percent damage reduction modifiers, and I am not using any percent armor pen modifiers, I believe the flat pen would give me an extra 20% damage against the target. How would I calculate the extra damage I receive from the weapon damage?

Yes. With all your buffs active, check your Max Stamina and divide it by 10.5, then add that number to your weapon damage. That sum is your effective weapon damage, and if you divide an additional weapon damage value by it you will get the % increase in damage. Keep in mind that tooltip values for bonuses are not the actual value you receive, so if a set says it gives 129 weapon damage it will probably give around 170-190 after multipliers (like Brutality and Medium Armor passives).

So for example if you have 30,000 Stamina and 4,000 weapon damage, then your effective weapon damage is
    4000 + (30000/10.5) = 6857
If you add an additional set bonus that increases this by 180 then the damage of most of your skills will go up by
    180/6857 = 2.6%

Another thing to consider is that weapon damage does not increase damage from proc sets (Viper, Relequen, Velidreth, etc.), weapon enchants, or weapon poisons. If a lot of your damage comes from this then you won’t see the full % increase calculated above.

Thank you for the information @WrathOfInnos. I play no-cp and don't use any proc sets (although I probably should tbh), so I'm just focused on the raw numbers and deciding between sharpened and nirnhoned.

From what I know the posters are correct. I wish ESO showed more useful information about our abilities. Like maybe an "effective SD" calculation and penetration numbers. I think there's add-ons for this, which may or may not be really accurate, but it should be built into the game. Also the ability to see how sets could affect for example our LA and HA damage (not accounting for enemy resists of course), even taking into account mundus, passives, and CP.

While for normal use dividing your stam by 10.5 will get you in the ballpark of .5-1%. If you want it more accurate you can take a look at the skill coefficients and put your stam/weapon damage for each stat and you will get a more accurate value. Even more accurate value you can account for your %increases from CP the like if you 00.00% accurate
