PvP is a Shambles

After a day of PvPing in this new patch I have to say...

PvP is a mess, some steps have been taken in the right direction and some steps have been taken in the wrong direction and I'll try to do some light clarification below.

Snares:
You're still snared for 90% of the time you're in combat, this has been a mess since Murkmire and is still a mess now, combat feels so sluggish and clunky when trying to land thinsg like melee abilities when you're character is wading through treacle to move the entire time. Having to recast Forward momentum every 4 seconds or Shuffle every 6 Seconds isn't something I should have to do when in a fight.

It makes abilities like Dizzying Swing almost unusable because you move too slowly to keep up with your opponent for it to actually hit. This is also carried over to the new cast times on ultimates, which is another annoyance in itself, no being able to animation cancel an ultimate you drop just adds to the feeling of PvP feeling clunky and slow and if anything, only punishes the players who actually knew what they were doing in combat.

DOTS:
This is another big issue I'm seeing in the latest patch, the number of powerful Single Target DOTS now is just too damned high.

The fact that players can now stack so many high damage DOTS on someone means if you're a class that can't run a cleanse or a spammable self heal or shield, you're in a really tough spot because they stack up to chew down you're health in seconds.

Most of the recaps I look at in BG's run along the same lines: Soul Trap, Entropy, Destructive Reach + Class DOT + Something.

It's not a fun gameplay, especially considering abilities like Soul Trap and Entropy aren't dodgeable so the counter play is extremely limited.

Extra stuff that will never get fixed:
Facing premades in BG's still sucks.
Drinking a potion, hearing the potion noise only the find out that your character didn't drink the potion.
CC breaks and abilities having massive delays (Can take like 2 seconds for the game to register a CC break in BG's) + lag in general.
Dodge roll timing is still off from the Dodge changes that were implemented a few patches ago, being hit by things that you are clearly dodging and dodging things that you're clearly not dodging.
Still no new Gear Sets or Armour sets in Battlegrounds, Cyrodiil or Imperial City to give actual incentive to do them.
Imperial City still completely dead, rework it.

P.S. Please add a structured 2 v 2 PvP as 4 v 4 v 4 BG's feel very hectic and messy.

    If you read the post before replying you'll see that much of the stuff that I point out has been a problem for months / years :wink: + the new bad stuff that's been added this patch.

    And yeah, I am gonna react to things on the day the patch comes out because I don't want PvP to be stuck like this for months.

    I apologize that my reply was rather brash, and I did read your entire post. Regardless, my point remains that things have changed. Certain playstyles are stronger and some are weaker, it is going to take a little bit for everyone to adjust. Creating a thread claiming PvP is in shambles after a day of Scalebreaker going live is in my opinion an overreaction.

    The snare meta has been a major complaint for awhile yes, and it can be annoying to have to counter it by using your snare removals and going on the offensive during your snare immunity, but I wouldn't say it's completely broken PvP, it's just changed it. I primarily play a dizzy-swing PvP build myself and don't think my ability to land attacks or my escapability has been compromised as long as I have forward momentum. And yeah, DOTs are strong but so is healing, it will be weird getting used to at first but everyone will adapt over time.

    These changes have been on the pts for over a month, with the same concerns voiced and apparently ignored. Our patience isn't what's needed at this point, it's zos's job to make the game fun and enjoyable, I've already canceled my sub, and you can be sure many more people will before next patch if nothing changes.

    Dude do you realize the crazy dot meta this is going to create? With just soul trap and entropy you can put 30k damage over 10 sec on someone. You don't think that is absurd? I am on a templar so I have some counter to this crazy idiotic cancer but I feel for people with out a huge purge like my self. On my build im running 3 dots and I have 45k damage over 10 seconds with out even attacking with a spamable.

    Let's see; removed Power Surge, nerfed shields, nerfed Twilight, and without a cleanse.
    I don't see any compensation for Sorcs.

    At least Warden got a HoT to Seeds but vines ST HoT nerfed. Peeved with the advanced species nerf as it was allocated damage (buffed) to offset the bear (when previously nerfed) so the class wasn't so reliant on the bear, but that's off topic.

    Templars seem okay but I'm annoyed with the "we changed this ability because we don't know how to fix it lolz" approach, but... Managing.

    Necro free HoT is a plus, pulsing fear is a plus, double ghosty heals is a plus. Win, win, win.

    DK healing is *** to sustain for less effective HoTs.

    NB mitigation reduction is meh, at least Shadow Image is fixed for a large cost of stam, ditto to Sap Essence as it has been a long time since this ability was remotely viable for healing.

    Still a big turd from ZoS.

    If you are snared 90% of the time, isn't your opponent also snared 90% of the time meaning you all would be moving relatively the same speed?

    Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

    Do you have any players making sure you're not the only one targeted? I target healers all the time and the smart groups...PROTECT their healers while they heal...and take me down.

    If you're not in a group that helps you out...why are you healing them.

    This and macro spamming of combos. I count less than a second and 4-6 abilites supposedly happened at once on recap. I genuinely don't think its good game play at this point. I see it too often. Dot+Dot+ability+ability etc. How do we stop macros?

    Yeah, I've got a feeling Templars and Necros and gonna rise in popularity just for the cleanse and other mag classes might even start running Purge.
