The new elemental succession with asylum destruction staff

Elemental Succession
OLD: While you are in combat, you gain a rotating bonus to Flame, Shock, or Frost Damage. The active element changes every 4 seconds. Your attacks dealing damage with the active element gain 515 Spell Damage.
NEW: Whenever you deal Flame, Shock, or Frost Damage, you gain 550 Spell Damage for that element for 4 seconds. This effect can occur every 4 seconds per element. You can have multiple different elemental buffs active simultaneously.

Now my immediate thought was pairing this with the Asylum destruction staff.

Concentrated Force (Perfected)

(1 Item) Every second cast of Force Shock will always apply the Burning, Concussion, and Chilled status effects. The Force Shock casts must be made within 10 seconds of each other for this effect to occur.

Will this be as good as it seems it could be?

    I hate to say, "I think I read somewhere," but I think I read somewhere that they're extending the cooldown 😕

    Depends somewhat on how good you think it seems. You could presumably have 90%+ uptime on 550 spell damage, which is more than what spell strategist’s 5 piece offers while also being aoe. However, if you source a lot of damage from magic damage skills like templars and nightblades (most classes really) then most of your damage isn’t getting the buff. Plus, with soul trap and entropy now being powerful dots that deal magic damage, they might see use on even an elemental build’s bars, and so lessen the overall effectiveness of ele succ.

    Patch notes have said 4 second cooldown, but PTS had it at 5 seconds. I’m hearing from friends that on live it has the stated 4 second cooldown. I’m unaware of any word that it’ll be extended again.
