Maelstrom weekly reward- I got it but wasn’t in the top 100?

So, did ZOS give everyone who completed v Maelstrom this event a reward for beating vMA? Because I know for a fact I was not on the leaderboard and still got the weekly reward in my inbox.

Intentional? Or bugged?

You can get a reward for being on the leaderboard for your individual class as well I think.

You might not have been in the top overall 100, but your score for, say, dragonknights might have been good enough to get the reward.

I just got one as well. Score was 524k, which I believe is too low even for the Sorc leaderboard this week. Too bad it was just two useless swords...

On Xbox NA, last time I got leaderboard, 308,000 ish was good enough on sorc

@Feric51 I know. I been on and off the leaderboard before. I wasn’t placed anywhere. Just found it odd I got a weekly reward but not on the board.

Same for me. Score was 516k low for nightblade or any other class for that matter. Got gold weapon set and ring I didn't need either

I got one too. Was definitely not on either the overall leader board or the one for my class (best score was around 530k). I'm guessing maybe everyone gets it during the event?

I had this a few weeks ago.
Took my new mag necro through for the first time and scored 460, def not enough for leaderboards, but still got a leaderboard reward.

I guess the combat in vma isn't the only thing bugged.

Most weeks 460k is easily Necro scoreboard. Other than Elsweyr launch week and this week, I don’t think the Necro board has filled to 100 people, meaning finishing it gets you the reward.

Most weeks 460k is easily Necro scoreboard. Other than Elsweyr launch week and this week, I don’t think the Necro board has filled to 100 people, meaning finishing it gets you the reward.

PC EU all classes score was more than 600k.

And leaderboard never show top 100 but instead 64 or 70 etc.

Leaderboards matter?

Yes. If you are in the top 100 of your class, you get a weekly reward in the mail which contains an extra Maelstrom weapon (or two if it's duel wielding weapons). It is similar to trial weekly rewards in that people in the top 100 on the weekly trial leaderboard gets a reward in the mail too. If you do not get in the top 100, you do not get one.

@MLGProPlayer Glad to know someone else who also got one and knew they weren't on the board.

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom Can we get an update on if this was a bug or if it was a gift for running a full vMA trial this week? Either way, I appreciate the extra Maelstrom weapon and a gold necklace.

I was wondering the same here. There's no way I placed on the NB leaderboard with my trash farmer toon, but lo and behold, I got rewards. Must be a bug, or maybe just an intentional nice gesture. Maybe it's padding for the next day's patch

My first fun during the event I finally scored an inferno staff and not only that it came with a lightning staff as well... That was a good ESO day!

I've only just started doing vMA because of the event. Don't know my best score as I didn't bother tracking it -- I'm still dying 5-10 times in a clear so I'm losing a lot of the vitality bonus. And I'm playing a sorc, which is probably the most represented class.

And yet - shiny gold Inferno staff in the mail last night.

I mean, I'm thrilled to have gotten it, but it's a bit hard to believe that I actually "earned" it.

I got a fire and lightning staff in one go too, plus the staff motif. The next run was a bow and ice staff.

I have a feeling they won't clarify if this was on purpose or not so I assume it was a glitch.
