How about making L1/L2 a "Weapon Swap" combo, like L1/R1 does for "Ultimate"?

I have an issue with trying to swap weapons while walking, running, riding and in combat; taking my thumb off L3 in order to swap weapons.

If they're gonna give r1/l1 a function I'd rather it not be something you can already do. Just start moving your right thumb to l3 when swapping. Might seem awkward at first, especially in combat but start doing it while walking running riding and eventually it'll become second nature to do in combat

Thanks, Wandering. I currently am trying to use my left index finger to swap weapons while in combat, but it is a learning experience. It seams to me that we could be more efficient with the L1/L2 weapon swap setup for weapon swap as I die within that few seconds I have to take my left thumb off L3 in order to swap weapons.

Taking your thumb off R3 to swap weapons wouldn't work in combat because of the panning we MUST do in combat. By using L1/L2 to swap weapons...we could then use the LEFT directional button on the PS4 DUALSHOCK for some other use, like QUICK HIDING or maybe some other NEW feature from ESO?

Greetings, Iron. Yes, L3 is fine. I am talking about the few seconds we MUST take our left thumb off L3 to do a weapon swap. I and a few others I have spoken to, have died within those few seconds because you have to stop moving in order to weapon swap.

PROBLEM SOLVED! I was able to switch out Sneak (R3) with Left Directional right in ESO. Now my weapon swap is on R3 PRESS and my sneak is on Left Directional. SWEAT!!!

You can always use one of the alternate button mappings built into the game as well. There’s one where a long press on Triangle is the bar swap.

"Configuration C" Bar swap cancels are so easy when its triangle. I switched and never looked back.

Yup. I just couldn’t remember which config it was. Alls I know it that’s the one I use lol.

If you're on ps4, you can change the button layout in the accessibility menu (e.g., you can make R3=left d-pad).

You just have to remember to turn off the changes when you play a different game, which is pretty simple since you can save the alternative button layouts.
