Unless you’re really low CP it should be pretty easy. Damage output so high these days. Check your mechanics against a guide, and then make sure you’re using a good setup both gear and CP. You could have some trouble around CP300 but once you hit 500 the rest is just practice. Even that poison level shouldn’t be too bad. I don’t honestly die to RNG on that stage all that’s much. Mostly just dumb mistakes.

Also, kids these days. Remember when you had to beat games all in one go and on top of that you had this mini screen to look at and had to pretty much memorize every single mechanic in the whole game lol. Makes vMA look like a walk in the park.

Anyone else here old enough to have played Jaws on the original NES? Now THAT was hard. Like, Pound your face into a rock wall hard.

LMAO. How about landing on the aircraft carrier in Top Gun for NES? Talk about RNG. Haha

I think vMA is a lot knowing the mechanics, but also really knowing how to play to your strengths. I’m not a great player and not great with perfect rotation, so I’ll never put up the crazy dps you see. Only cleared it 6 times now, and the last 3 were all the same day yesterday. The last one took just under 2 hours. I learned each time though. Learned to go lightning staff for certain stages, fire staff for others. Infernal Guardian is awesome for stages 5, 7 and 8. Zaan and Skoria both better for stage 9.

Still learning too - I’m realizing that I don’t optimize my familiar in vMA, so I dropped that and daedric prey, to add ele drain and boundless storm. That’s making it even easier.

If you know your strengths, take the time to learn what’s killing you, and have a decent rotation, you can beat vMA. No doubt about it.

Xbox says I am one of 0.33% of players that earned Maelstrom Arena Conqueror.

Note, I've only done it once, and I'll never do it again unless the Arena is nerfed in some way.

I did it once, but I vowed never to do it again. The poison stage is just too frustrating. I am sure more than 3/4ths of all my deaths came from that stage. In the end, the only way I won was RNG not any skill on my part. Obviously, people have mastered it, and kudos to them.
