Any skill that has a condition that scales up based on a percentage of health left in your opponent. The lower health your opponent is at, the higher damage the skill.

Ok so whirling bladed and poison injection both go up, but they dont actually execute something like an instagib (unless the target is just that low on health). Am I correct?

Correct. Compare those to something like Assassin's Blade that deals 300% more damage to enemies below 25% health instantly. Poison Injection is a DOT. Whirling Blades gives a 100% boost, which wile a boost, does not get into the realm of an execute skill. Radiant Destruction is a decent example of a hybrid of both, which gives a 480% boost over 1.8 seconds to enemies under 50% health.

Any skill that says "Does 'X' amount more damage when target is under 'X' % health"

Usually its 25% health, but there are some skills that increase damage on targets under 50%, for instance.

    NB: Killer's Blade
    Templar: Radiant Destruction
    Sorc: Mage's Wrath
    Warden: Bear

    DW: Whirling Blades
    2H: Reverse Slash
    Bow: Poison Injection

DK, Destruction Staff and 1hShield dont have any. Necro has execute built-in into passive, but doesnt count as "execute ability" for sets like Vicecannon of Venom.

Plus the DW passive, you mentioned the necro one but not that one, so whirling blades gets a double dip into execute, triple, if you are a necro, quadruple, if you have bloodthirsty on, no wonder they are the best DPS.

Whats it mean to double dip exactly?

You get the up to 100% plus 20% from the passive, so up to 120%, bloodthirsty is multiplicative with this, so you get up to 30% more from that, so base 100%+120%=220% and bloodthirsty is multiplicative with that, so 220% * at least 10%, which is an extra 22% damage, so with just one BT. You get 242% damage, with 3 you get 66% more, or 286% and with the necro passive, almost all your hits under 25% crit, and that is 180% to 225% more damage. You see how it adds up fast.

They are still executes, they just arent spammables. If a skill does more damage as your opponents health decreases, its an execute. Some are certainly stronger than others. Also, calling a radiant a hybrid is just weird. It's an extremely strong execute, it just happens to b channel.

In practice (from a PVE standpoint), Templars use radiant, NBs use killers blade/impale, Sorcs read the tool tip of mages wrath 3-4 times but then realize its trash, stam uses PI, 2h stam uses reverse slice, and really all DW skills (and whirling blades) get an execute to some degree.

@Oreyn_Bearclaw agree with everything you said. I just think of executes as a very powerful attack once the target gets under X%, like killers blade where your attacks start banging at 30K+ once it kicks in. Technically, radiant is a DOT, but the T is very, very short at 1.8 seconds, so that'y why I called it a hybrid, but I agree it is an execute. Reverse slice is great, too. Guess I don't include mage's wrath because it just sucks, and whirling blades is nice, but doesn't hold a candle to killers or radiant.

Fair enough. Killers blade and Radiant are certainly the gold standards, hard to argue with that.

The other day, I had a reverse slice splash crit for like 1.7 million against the attros on the fire dragon (HM). Not sure if it was a bug or not, but pretty crazy. The cleave damage is INSANE.

Haven't tested it but yes the bear is an execute everytime you activate their ability when the bear is up.
