combat pets

I wasn't sure which section of the forum to put this question so i'm leaving it here.

I know how to get non-combat pets. but have noticed that some people's pets actually fight....and...i sometimes fight their pets in pvp. I'm a dragonknight. that's the only character i have right now. My question is how do i get a combat pet? How does that part of ESO function?

    Combat Pets are class-exclusive.

Sorcerer has the Winged Twilight, Clannfear, Familiar, and Storm Atronach.

    Warden has the Bear.

Sorcs and wardens are the only classes with permanent pets, the scamp/clanfear and twilight for sorcs and the bear for wardens, all other pets are temporary. You can use armor sets as a DK to get temporary pets, like a deadroth from Maw of the infernal and Shadow rend.

The sorcerer class has 3 combat pets: the scamp, the twilight, and the storm atronach.

The Warden class has 1 combat pet: the bear.

Several other abilities and sets can grant temporary combat pets, including Warden, Necro, Maw of the Infernal, Defiler, and Mad Tinkerer.

ok, then as a DK, what armor sets give me a temp combat pet? And how does a temp combat pet work. is it like, i push a button on my keyboard and it summons and then i have to wait a bit before i can summon it again?

Temporary pets are just that, temporary. They last for a set amount of time and they go away.

    The 2 best sets are-

    https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Maw_of_the_Infernal_(set)

    https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Shadowrend_(set)

Maw is offensive based and shadowrend is defensive based.

This one, https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Defiler will sommon a hunger but it is not very good, especially in PvP.

This one, https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Morkuldin summons swords to fight for you, they are not very good either but it can be fun.

Summons a Verminous Fabricant that rolls through enemies, sending them flying like bowling pins. It’s amusing to see.
*slams a gallon of Respecting Support Roles juice on the table* Take a sip, babes.

Technically that is a summon, yes, but it just rolls in one direction, it is very fun though, ran it on my pet sorc for a long while.

It’ll follow you like a pet if it doesn’t roll ASAP. It dies really quick unfortunately. Wish it would hang around longer, they’re cool looking.

I wasn’t implying that you didn’t, sorry if it came out like that. I was just being wistful about having a robo-raptor pet.

It is tons of fun, we agree. And I ought to have out it in my list. Thank you for pointing it out.

In the case of Warden and Necro, their temporary combat pets are created by using their class skills. I.e. Warden "Dive" sends a cliff racer to attack the enemy.

In the case of sets, the pet will appear based on its proc condition, which will be listed on the armor set.
