I don’t think it would, as One Tamriel is designed to let you go anywhere. My new characters jump all over chasing skyshards and lore books, completing quests wherever they happen to be.

No. It really does not matter anymore.

Unless you are interested in experiencing a cohesive and at least somewhat logical story of course.

It wont break the game. There might be some story narrative weirdness related to the Main Quest of the game if do say Coldharbor before you do the Main Quest or do like the last zone in the Alliance before the rest. But it wont stop things from moving along

You can't GET Cadwell's until you've completed the Main Quest so I'm not sure what you're referring to in your question when you mention that. If by mentioning Cadwell's quests you're referring to the 'other' two faction stories (as opposed to the Cadwell quests themselves) then there isn't any connection between any of the faction story arcs so you're okay to do those before your 'own' faction.

That said, if you do the other factions stories I don't know what will happen when you finally do complete the Main Quest and reach the point where you can get Cadwell's Silver.

Keep in mind that the Mages and Fighters guild quest chains are tied to your own faction, all interactions with them will take place in guild hall and zone locations which are part of of 'your' faction content.

He's talking about going straight through Main quest without doing anything else that applies - Alliance quest, Fighter Guild or Mages guild. Which is a perfectly viable thing to do now that everything adjusts to your level and you can just do Main quests in order without really stopping.

Cadwells silver and gold are their own quests with the Alliance questlines as prerequisites. If youve completed them both before your own, then when you finally do get to Cadwell telling you to do the others, Silver and Gold should i guess insta complete since you've already accomplished the required objectives.

Confirmed. You still have to speak to him 2x however.
