Why DPS NEVER find parties with the dungeon finder...

Well the truth is, there are too many DPS...

When you queue there is like 100 dps, 10 healers, 10 tanks... only 20 DPS are used...the other 80 complain that the system is broken...I have a solution to this

1. Play tank
2. Play healer
3. Join a guild and make parties within it
4. Wait....

DPS as a job is as plentiful as pennies...their all over the place...worthless(ok pennies do have a worth and dps do drive the party forward...good dps at least...)...nobody bothers with them....but they are needed to make change....

I wouldn't say is because there aren't enough tank or healer players. I'd argue it's the opposite really. But have you played as a tank and then notice your DPS is below 10k with the team combined? Yeah, it's rather common, imagine trying scalecaller wiht 10k dps. No thank you. A lot of healer/tanks just queue with their friends/guildies instead of trying their luck, because playing with bad DPS is miserable.

On the guilds I've been, there's never space for new healer/tanks, because there are so many of them already, and you need more DPS (in quantity I mean, trials require at 7-10 dps depending on which one you're going for) than supports. It's more rare to find good DPS than finding tanks. Although I have huge respects for people who tank, it's probably the hardest role.

DPS does find parties in LFG all the time. Unfortunately it is because they que as healers and tanks.....

Honestly the best way to do dungeons is to find a good guild, be a good guild member and dungeons become a fun and regular activity

Queuing with one other player, even another DD, seems to help.

Yeah, usually. You don't need an entire group, you just need one friend.

That said, sometimes the group finder does break.

I think being in a group with another dps place you in front of solo dps

If I queue I ask in guild or zone chat for anyone to help. I get someone and we are both dps. I queue and it's less than 15 seconds. Pretty much every time.

Well with the nerfs to tanks and healers the dungeon waits are probably going to be dramatically longer.
So I suggest going in with a premade group or you will find a dps player masquerading in those roles.

The choice of 4 man group instances is the main reason imo.

If you were to break down your typical raid group of 2 tanks 2-3 healer 7-8 dps to 4 man groups you are left with 4 dps in queue.

They could solve a lot of the problems by making it 5 man dungeons and eliminate the queueing of dps (to a degree obviously).

Because good healers and tanks don’t want to chance getting a bad DPS, which are flourishing in group finders, thus reducing the healer and tank population.

It’s easier and faster to run four DPS normals, so no need for a healer or tank to queue into any normals unless they just really want some extra exp.

DPS is also the most simple and self reliant role, since nothing in normal is really a threat, means most people wanna play it.

People just plain don’t like playing support classes. I still remember threads claiming a healer shouldn’t be expected to buff the group or help with sustain. And the outcry about tanks being forced to wear group buff sets and how they’re “tanks not dps-supports”. People don’t wanna do the whole job.

They should allow an option to queue in a non traditional group. Would have to be an option though. Then players who don't care if they get a tank or healer in the group can queue with other players that don't care. Maybe they get four DPS maybe they get two tanks and two healers or any other combination. Just slot some self heals on your DPS and good to go.

Great Tankys don't have time for bad groups, as they are in demand. Best solution is to be social and be in a guild.

Also, have a dps, a tanky, and a healer character and be great at all three roles through experience. So you can easily switch roles in any vet trial, dungeon, or arena trial.

The random groups are just that. It's sort of like the leftovers, the bargain bin. And the wait is random too. Best solution have a premade group always....

It's an mmo, being social is a part of the game too.

I do this all the time between 4 healers and 3 tanks. All of which were created with the simple purpose of not waiting for queue.

It's not like there's too many dds, there's just too many bad dds. And that's a good reason to avoid group finder if you're a tank or healer.
Not everyone can justify spending the whole evening on something that can be done in 30 minutes. Honestly, I kinda envy those 5k dps dds that don't mind playing for hours to clear a dungeon, I wish I had this much free time. :D

i only break out my tank upon request, have you tried doing any rando dungeons with these entitled, low damage animals posing as humans.

Not only do you have to drop because they cant complete base game damage checks but you get the added bonus of being berated because they think this is WoW and that tanks should aoe taunt the room while they stand in stupid and cant dodge roll an adds heavy attack.

But I hate being forced to be social, get enough of that irl, if everyone queuing could just get good at their roles (myself and my pathetic dps included) we’d all be happier

We need an undaunted DLC that adds training arenas for each role and teaches all the basic mechanics in various situations. They should contain an infinite number of stages that get progressively harder, and award a score based on how far you got before you died.

Make the random dungeon reward scale with your score for the role you queued for (based on the number of dungeons you qualified yourself for via the arena), and you can't get into dungeons you're not qualified for via random.

And for those that queue for a specific dungeon, just add a big red warning or a skull next to the checkboxes of dungeons that would be too hard for you. You would still be able to get in, but you won't be doing it by accident (as is usually the case currently).

This would make the random dungeon feature safe to use and very nearly guarantee a completion. That would hopefully provide sufficient security and rewards for the good tanks (and healers) to come forward and be the "sellsword" for the appropriate price...
