Will it really be possible to actually buy skillines for crowns or is this just a rumor?

Since it is already up in the pts server... I mean, they might still decide not to do it, but selling things for crowns...

It’s coming in the next update. If you’ve fully leveled a guild skill line on any character you can buy that skill line, fully unlocked, for an alt.

We won’t know until it goes live. PTS never reflects the true crown prices.

Yup, everything costs 1 crown on PTS.

2.5k per line will drive people away from the "lovely" CS.

Minimum will be 1k per line.

I doubt that. Motifs are 5k, highly desirable mounts are 5k, a surprisingly number of people fork over almost 20k for homes. There’s no way that skill lines will be sold for less than the price of a costume. It will cost enough to make it a difficult decision, pay the piper to skip content, or actually play the game for free?

Skyshards is 750 for an standard zone. There in no chance they sell magic guild for 1K, 5K sounds more plausible here in the time you save. 2500 would be reasonable.

Skillines take a bit more effort to complete than just running around picking up skyshards.

Cost is likely to align with effort, if so then yes the cost could be more much than skyshards, 5k is not un-plausable.

I just wish those unlocks would be accountwide. If so 2500 or 3000 Crowns are reasonable. If it’s just for one character... not so much. It should act like something they could put under the Collectibles tab and you only have to buy once.

I think in some way it's the players i.e. Us which gave the Idea to ZO$.

We've been crying for ages that MG book finding is a chore no one wants to repeat on 10 characters and ZOS needs to make it account-wide. And what did we get? Someone at ZO$ got a brilliant idea about how to turn the whole thing into monetization for them. Why just Mages Guild, sell all other skill lines which people may or may not be willing to level up on other toons as it's a bit of grind.

How many times people really level up mages guild on a Stam toon? Probably very few or it gets leveled on its own finding random books. But then comes the Psijic...Oh Boy... That is worse than the Mages guild. I'm sure people will be lining up to buy that skill tree given almost every character can make use of it.

What Zo$ should have done, when you find a full set of Mages guild books i.e. Zone or particular themed MG book collection, it unlocks a special book in your collectibles menu which can be read by your other characters and get the same exp as it was on the character who discovered them.

But no, that will be too much work. Why not just write an Unlock code for Skill line and link it to a crown store purchase. Less work+ More $$$$.

Those who want it will buy it and those who can't ...well we can always come here for some more QQ...

You need to look at Race Change tokens, Name Change tokens, Additional Character Slot, and Additional Outfit slot costs as pricing guides for Guild Skill Line costs.

As much as I despise the mind-numbing waste of leveling skills on new characters, I'm not paying ZOS for it. I don't know what's worse, the drudgery of boring repetition designed into the game or paying ZOS to avoid it. I'll just stick with the characters I already have.

Patch notes make it clear and Zos essentially told us over 3 months ago the guild lines would be available to buy for new character if you had completed it on at least one character.

I do think completion should scale with player level or not be available until level 50 due to under 50 PvP balance.

That’s not true of the skill lines being sold. You can’t level up Psijic by doing nothing, or Undaunted, or Mage’s guild

My best advice would be not to buy these skill lines at all and just level them. I don't see why they should be awarded with money for such minimal work considering the state of the servers at the moment.
