Kicked out of dungeon before final quest can be turned in, annoying!

We really should be able to turn in the final quest even if one of the NPCs is going about their job really slowly. Quite annoying to not be able to turn it in because they are slow and everyone else leaves before they are done!

I feel your pain, people often just leave as soon as the final boss is dead, even after being asked to remain -politely-. the best solution sure is running with friends or guildies but they're not always available to satisfy my needs either and I shouldn't expect them to. the "kick" timer needs to be maybe doubled or players with the dungeon quest shouldn't get booted from the instance until the quest is handed in or leave voluntarily

I agree. It's a stupid 'feature' and should be expunged with great haste.

Howver, as it has been requested repeatedly over the years and ZOS has not obliged, I doubt it will change.

Since they are not going to do away with the timer, should just make it so that if you have the dungeon quest active when you enter the instance, the NPC will be sitting at the start so it can be delivered regardless of story gimmicks going on.

Resetting the dungeon while we still have the quest on the last step is a recipe for frustration.

That gave me an idea. Enter dungeon accept the quest have yourself kicked from group and you are still in dungeon because you have quest. Find other people. Do 4 people dungeon with 12 people raid group. :D

On second though it won't work. :'(

The 'kick' timer simply shouldn't exist after the dungeon is complete. Kick timers exist to remove kicked players from the instance if they're not in the group any longer. However, as far as I can see, there is no reason why the game should kick a player from a dungeon if they're the last man standing after all their other teammates leave the group. So nevermind the timer, why is this even a thing at all?

this must be fixed. MUST be. there are a few ways of fixing it, easiest IMO being - extend the kick timer to i don't know.... 3 minutes instead of 30 seconds. it still empties out the instance in a timely manner, reducing the load on the server (apparently that's the reason for the kick timer? even though when you solo a dungeon, you can pretty much live there after its done, for hours and THAT doesn't kick you, ONLy if your group disbands, and that also applies to premade groups where you walked into the dungeon directly rather then use the queue, but I digress). 3 minutes at least allows for a bit of extra time to turn int the quests in case your group ignores your repeated pleas to stay for a moment until you have a chance to click on a quest giver (and god help you if you'd actualy like to listen or read what they have to say)
    dirty worthless casual.

Do you say in the group chat that you have the quest?
If they don't know you have the quest, it's normal they won't wait.

When i run with pugs to level up my low level char, I just say 'Hi, i have the quest here' and usually one other persons will wait long enough for me to turn in the quest at the end.

I'm not a fan of the time either, don't get me wrong. I wish i could stay in the dungeon longer to look for chests or heavy sacks when the pug i ran with just blasted through the dungeon.

Type "Quest" in the text chat, other members will understand. This is what I do while leveling a char thru dungeons.
If you don't write/say anything they will assume this is not your 1st time in the referred dungeon.

Usually do pledges with guildmates but pugged a ‘tank’ the other night. VoM. 2 of us doing quest / levelling up.

3 of us pause at start whilst getting quest (takes soooo long!). He doesn’t wait & runs ahead. Type ‘doing quest’ in group chat. No response.

And this carries on throughout run. Bloody obvious doing the quest as killing things then hanging around near npcs. Keep writing in group chat that we are doing quest but to no avail. Decide that if he wants to solo it who are we to get in his way 🤣

Managed to complete but just to say don’t always rely on text chat to get point across!

I didn't tell everyone. This is only about my 5th time doing a dungeon at all, but I found they give skill points, so it can be worthwhile.

A serious issue here is that the NPC had to go through some really slow ritual before I could turn things in. That made it impossible to turn in.

I would agree with the ability to turn in the last step right as you get into the dungeon. Make it just outside if you want to keep someone from queuing just to turn in and leave.

Yes, you always get a skill point for doing the dungeon's quest (base game and dlc dungeons). That's why I run dungeons while leveling a char.

This is why you should tell the group you're doing the quest: some dungeon quests have these parts where you need to wait for the npcs.

People have been asking for this to be fixed for literally years and I don't think I've seen the issue so much as acknowledged. It would be nice but it's probably never going to happen, best you can hope for is you get at least one decent person in your group who will stick around long enough for you to finish.

Your group should have kicked that player as he/she obviously couldn't work as a group member and wait for everybody to go through each step in dungeon.

To those who say that one can type in chat "quest" and that would maybe get someone to stay to deliver quest to NPC. There is a lot of players that doesn't communicate or even want to understand English in chat as long as they get their own rewards from finishing dungeon.

The simple solution is to be able to turn in the quest once the last boss is dead. The problem is in some dungeon you have to wait 2 - 3 minutes before you can turn in the quest

Vollenfell is tricky because you have to exit where main boss fight have ended and find quest giver after skeletons have been summoned. Most player that don't know about this might start to fight skeletons instead of getting out and because of in combat issues can have trouble to interact with quest NPC to finish quest.

Worse part is those dungeon where one need to wait in between so game will tick to next step in story (go next target on map). If somebody rush through and put group in combat then it will take forever to interact with quest NPC to get this on to next stage, so it isn't just in the end of dungeons that this can be a problem.

A bunch of us have been complaining about this for years. ZOS ignores us. I don’t think they know how to fix it, frankly. It’s another symptom of all the coding problems with this game.

It really is one of the worst design decisions about this game. Every dungeon run is just a frantic rush to the finish, with no time to take in the scenery or story. I really don’t know why they haven’t made a dungeon story mode after years of the community complaining about it. You would think the developers would want all their work appreciated. Such a shame.

Just don't kick me for 30 minutes even if I am the only one in the dungeon. That should be a simple fix (extending the auto kick timer significantly) and not require anything else.

I may have missed the "extra part" of the quest too which someone might have mentioned, but the NPC was still doing her slow thing and the map marker indicated being where I was. I would have waited if the system let me do so.
