Question on set items that are low level

Hi, I just started recently playing ESO and have come across several set pieces that are low level....like level 5 low. So if I equip the piece and lets say in a few more levels I come across another set piece but this one is level 10. Is there anyway to upgrade my level 5 set item piece? I would imagine that very quickly I will find better gear for all my other slots. But if I have set item pieces, will I just have to discard them for newer non-set gear?

Thanks

Yes, that’s exactly what you do. There is even a window that shows if your stats increase or decrease to help you with that decision.

Don’t bother too much with equip in lower levels. Sometimes a set bonus is worth 5-10 item levels, sometimes it’s not. You’ll figure that out very soon and you’ll get so much equipment in ESO that you’ll most likely have always better stuff to equip than low level set pieces.

As you acquire new set pieces at your current level, you may safely discard the lower level item it replaces.

There is an over-abundance of gear in the game; you will have no difficulty at all in acquiring the gear you need to enjoy playing. If you like a certain set, it's easy in nearly all cases to farm that set at the appropriate level.

Overland Sets (not Dungeon or Trial)
Weapons, Shields, Head, Chest, Legs drop from World Bosses (Skull and crossbones map symbol)
Shoulders, Waist, Hands, Feet drop from Delve Bosses ( Torch map symbol or Cave map symbol)
Rings and Necklaces drop from Dolmens (or Geysers in Summerset) (Fiery Ring map symbol)

Treasure maps drop a random item from any of the Overland sets in that zone.
