On a lighter note, the above title asks what I would like to know. Obviously, I will go first.

Insightful: makes a point I hadn't considered even though I may disagree.

Agree: completely or substantially hits points with which I can agree.

Awesome: makes me laugh out loud and/or delights me with its cleverness.

So Runefang, you use insightful sarcastically?

Interesting. I never considered doing that. But I am lousy at sarcasm. I am often too literal.

Insightful: Answer to OP is good enough that I see no reason to post, in the thread/well explained/I even learnt something from it.

Agree: Agree with at-least some of what is written/or what I view their trying to say.

    Awesome: Somewhat entertaining or praiseworthy.

Yes. I know I'm not the only one who does this.

Insightful: Where I have learned something interesting that I haven't thought about before.
Agree: Something that I find myself agreeing with enough that it warrants a vote.
Awesome: Something that I find very amusing or entertaining.

I don't vote that often, so things really have to be impressive, or interesting, or something that I can really strongly agree on.

Agree: if I agree with a post completely, I'll use agree.

Insightful: if I learn something and/or the post is very detailed and well-reasoned - giving me a whole new perspective or broaden my perspective on the matter, it'll earn an insightful from me.

Awesome: if the post seems to have required a lot of work to write or the post is surprisingly funny or showcases something amazing (like a cool costume/outfit, a beautiful house decoration etc.), it'll earn an awesome from me.

In an overlapping scenario where post fits multiple reasonings above, I'll react with insightful - or if I do not think it earns insightful, but the post is between the agree and awesome, I'll give awesome.

Since everyone seems to have their own definitions and it's impossible to keep track of them (especially since there's no way of knowing who tagged a post) I take them all at face value.
    • Insightful: this post adds useful or relevant info to the discussion.
    • Agree: Someone agrees with what this post says.
    • Awesome: It's amusing or entertaining - a show of support for when agree doesn't really fit.

If someone has said something that is insightful, i.e they have provided insight, information etc into something or about something, I click Insightful.

If someone has said something I think is funny, entertaining, awesome, I click Awesome.

The only thing I would add to the above, is when someone is clearly trolling a thread and giving a response meant to bait or inflame, I might toss them an Insightful in lieu of LOL. Yes, they gain an Insightful, but everyone else who sees it knows it is deeply sarcastic.

I give a lot of agrees. Awesome goes to those posts that really explain something very well, above and beyond, who may also get some applause if they were in the same room as me.
For a moment, nothing happened. Then, after a second or so, nothing continued to happen. - Douglas Adams

It is a rare mind indeed that can render the hitherto non-existent blindingly obvious. The cry 'I could have thought of that' is a very popular and misleading one, for the fact is that they didn't, and a very significant and revealing fact it is too. - Douglas Adams

I click Awesome when something gives me a "NICE!" reaction. I use Agree literally. I use Insightful for things that are insightful OR as a substitute for a positive laugh reaction, like the "Haha" Facebook icon. There is no clickie for bad reactions.

My definitions as well, though I also use 'awesome' occasionally for a post which discusses something in depth and I want to acknowledge the effort that went into it .. not all long posts are 'awesome' ;)

Agree, if they echo my sentiments to some degree.

Awesome if they say something well, genuinely make me laugh, or impress me in some way.

Insightful if they say something I hadn't thought of before, informative, or...a very different line of thinking that I question.

So the insightfuls I got are not because I'm clever, but people laughing at me *sobs*. I use it to indicate that the poster has told me something I didn't know, or a useful tip, that kind of thing.

I imagine trolls might mark Agree/Awesome to other troll posts.
Or, like Reddit, people might be upvoting fluff and garbage.

Since it's potentially easy to misuse or manipulate, and therefore misinterpret, I ignore all of it.
