PS4 to PC, Taking a character TOP to BOTTOM.

The time has come in my gaming career to make the switch, from console to PC.
I've been playing since 2015 on console with a roster of 14 characters - yes I have a problem.
I want to take a character from the very top, to the very bottom of the game. All the content. Zone by zone.
It's going to be a serious main character. All the quests, but also a capable dps character for all content. No achievement will be left out.
Here's my dilemma. I don't know what class.

Here's where I stand with them all:

Dragonknight - My main on PS4, therefore, ruling it out.

Nightblade - Have never been able to get into this class, but appreciate their skills can be helpful for questing.

Sorcerer - Played a fair bit of Magicka Sorc, never loved it, never hated it. Has always been solid for me.

Warden - Love Wardens, have about 6 of them on PS4. But I am making a Warden healer on PC to grind to 50 quickly.

Templar - Also love Templars, probably my highest dps character on PS4, love all their skills.

Necromancer - The new and most likely choice at this stage. I'm unfamiliar with a lot of the skills, only gotten a mag Necro to around 30 on PS4. So it would be a risk dedicating such a big character to a class I don't know much about, but could also be a good choice because I'd be discovering the class as I go.

PLEASE HELP ME CHOOSE. THANKS.
Also please take the recent patch notes with a grain of salt. Remember rarely everything goes live from first patch note release. I won't be basing my decision on the new patch notes. I'd want to base my decision pmoreso on what I said above than any patch notes.
Leaning towards a Magicka based class.

Maybe wait till they port it all over to PS5 in like less than a year before wasting all that progress.

All good, it's all set up and ready to go tomorrow, looking forward to a fresh start 🙂
I won't be leaving PS4 for good anyway, I'll be dabbling in both.

I’ve been on both since their respective launches and fair warning: pugs on PC are unusually, hysterically terrible and whence most of the “terrible pug” memes and stories arise. Conversely, I’ve never had issues completing vet content, even HMs, via PS4’s activity finder. Voice chat is supremely underrated and randoms don’t just hop into Discord upon a whim. So join a dungeon/ trials guild on PC ASAP or be prepared for tears.

Yeah no voice chat is disappointing but I'm not a big mic user anyway. Think the pros of the add ons outweigh that one con drastically :)
    Anyway, what's your favourite class?!

I would say go with your original main class.

I know you might not want to, since everything will feel basically the same as when you did it on console but you chose that class as your main for a reason, you don't want to create a new character to be your main while forcing yourself to play a class that didn't originally appeal to you.

Because what will happen is you will get part way into your goal of creating a new main and suddenly find yourself missing your old main and creating an alt of that class, which will most likely become your main anyway.

That said you seem to be a fellow alt-aholic so you will eventually end up creating a new stable on PC full of them and have had experience with the various classes.

So pick the one you enjoyed most and are most familiar with. Your goal is going to take a long time to complete so don't try to rush it.

PS4 games will run on PS5, PS5 is simply an better cpu and gpu of the same type, better storage and probably more memory.
Just an upgrade like the pro, exception is that PS5 games does not have to be able to run on PS4, think most will do at least in the start
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I’m aware of backwards compatibility. The point I was making is that ZOS will probably do a proper patch for PS5/ Xbox Next as they did to take advantage of the Pro/ X1X. They were the first in line for that.

You can complete all content with any combination of characters and classes. Right now, what I’m finding to be one of the finest classes for all around use is the stamina necromancer. You can build a very strong group dps or easily survivable solo character.

If you are going to run everything with this one character, I think the greater concern is that you come up with a character that appeals in every way, not only performance. Pick a race and class that are compelling to you.

Another thing to consider switching from console to PC will be the availability of mods. After using some of them, you may potentially find the vanilla game almost intolerable.

Based on your original comments, I'm suggesting Templar.

You ruled out DK as that is your main on PS4.
You commented that you don't like the Nightblade and Sorc classes. So removing them.
Removing Warden as you said you had 6 of them already.

That leaves us with Necro and Templar.
As STAM Necro is the combo that works the best for Necro right now, I'm giving it a lower score as I'm assuming that your DK is also Stamina. and from my limited game play, all of the STAM classes play pretty much the same as its based on your weapon choice and not so much the class.

I tried a MAG necro, but gave up on it after getting to the mid teens as it just was not performing like I wanted it to when I compared it to the other MAG classes that I was playing.

So after ruling out Necro, that leaves us with the Templar that you said that you liked playing.
Magplar is my favorite for soling public dungeons.

    Whatever you do. have fun!
