Question on spell/weapon crit

I read somewhere that crits are now going to be based on your higher crit multiplier, for example extended ritual will crit based on weapon crit now if its higher.
My question is, currently in the live patch, do synergies crit based on spell crit? Sorry if this is answered somewhere, I suck at using search
