You are paying to bypass the content. Getting skyshards and skill lines on alts without having to...you know...get the skyshards or skill lines...isn’t QoL, it’s a shortcut. There’s no reason for it to be free.
Pay fo the toll road, or take the long way to the airport for free.

Either ZOS thinks there is a legitimate game design reason to having skyshards and guild skill lines not be account wide, or they now think it's a bad game design decision. If the former, they are actively undermining the intended gameplay experience by selling these skill lines and skyshards. If the latter, they are deciding to profit off a poor game design decision they made 6 years ago instead of altering the game design to improve the game for the enjoyment of both older and new players. Either way, it's a scummy (but not unexpected) practice. I'm just waiting on arena weapons to end up in the crown store, since the community seems to be fine with things being sold in the crown store as long as they are obtainable in-game.
For the record, I think there is a legitimate reason to make leveling alts difficult. It's called Cyrodiil. There are many factors to consider when trying to implement healthy AvAvA gameplay, and limiting the effect of alts is one of them. So again, using the crown store to undermine decisions that promote healthy gameplay is scummy.

I am sure getting skyshards on alt and skill line on alts is a QoL update. The achievements should be shared among all chars or you get an option to buy them INGAME.
On a side note, I want to mention that ESO is not a FreetoPlay(f2p) game. We pay them money for every DLC and Chapter. Its PaytoPlay game. This kind of Crown store item can be acceptable in a f2p game but not in PaytoPlay game. Its outright milking.
They are asking us to pay for a DLC/Chapter and pay to skip playing that. It doesnot make sense at all.
On a further note, I want to mention crown gifting, It hasn't been made clear if it is crown gifting or crown selling/buying. They took the least effort way to do it. They didn't even make a proper system for it. It isn't 100% safe to do crown gifting/buying/selling. It is made safe due to some diacord servers and community working to make it safe.
They were testing water with skyshard update and seems like they were successful and went ahead with this.
Tomorrow they are gonna continue like this and one day we will regret paying crowns for this stuff.
As far as we have seen, ZOS has made it pretty clear that they are not going to fix their servers, group finder and the various bugs that break the game.
They are focused to distract the players with crown store, continuous changes to combat system and selling bugged Chapter and Class.
See if we guys follow the trend one day they are going to take it too far and there will be no way back. I hope the community thinks before they decide and allow this.

Nailed it.
I don't see the problem? I'd much rather see QoL improvements and cosmetics in cash shops than actual p2w items. These things are basically completely optional. You don't like 'em? Don't buy 'em.
For those who want to skip a bunch of content, then you should have to pay the piper for the shortcut it brings.

Not at all.
I want to be playing the quests, dungeons, etc. But I have to repeat the same things multiple times just to nab a skyshard. I have to decide which characters to ignore so I can get the skyshard for crafting needs while still covering combat needs.
This is purely a "because we can" fee. The game should let me play it, not have to keep a website up on my computer while I play on my PS4 so I can nab the same skyshard I have already grabbed 10 times.
Waste of time and idiotic.

Seriously asking. At least if there were no requirement people could use it if they found themselves having to switch platforms or servers for whatever reason (looking at you PC-EU), that use I could see some validity in, but this, no one is forced to level an alt, if you don't want to don't make one.
Plus it would make sense from ZOS's perspective making the feature available to more players. Moe-players moe-money.

If you don't have the requirement to unlock the skyshard's on another character, then it really becomes a pay to win option for a new player (Like me). At that point your not just talking about Alt's, but about main characters buying skill points.

Oh I get it! You want access to something you can get for free with a miniscule bit if effort in the game, but you are not willing to pay for it.
Yeah, collecting lorebooks and getting undaunted to lvl 9 = minuscule bit of effort, right...
It doesn't take skill, it just requires a lot of time, and doing that on several characters makes anyone (at least me) hate the game, especially for pvpers.
