Any Thoughts? A New PvP Skill Line (instead of nerfing PvE)

Instead of obsessively ‘rebalancing’ current skills with a focus on PvP, wouldn’t it be more effective to add a new PvP skill line, without a focus on Cyrodiil mechanics?

It could focus on answers to class skills that people find unbalanced when PvP-ing (with an emphasis on Battlegrounds, since those came long after Alliance skills were made.)

Personally, I think a focus on corrupting enemy abilities would be really cool (like how the Warden’s Corrupting Seed lessens Healing received.) Maybe have an ultimate that banishes pets under a certain health threashold/force WW to transform back of their timer is at a certain point.

The first level of each skill might have 1 corrupting effect (lowers enemy ability efficiency) and 1 nullifying effect (self-only). Then the morph tree could branch into Mass Corruption or Group Nullification. This would add some nice non-healing support, while rewarding players for knowing their enemy.

Having it be a skill line would let low-level characters have tools to use against high-level characters, potentially. Also, this would be valuable for Support roles in Battlegrounds to have slotted.

This way it could be balanced against current skill lines without nerfing skills for PvE.

Not to mention, it’ll give folks something to spend all the new chapter and DLC Skyshards on.

I feel like this is the ‘work smarter, not harder’ approach to balancing things, as it would be one skill line to adjust to match other class abilities, rather than adjust all class abilities to suit only PvP mode.

Thoughts?
