Okay this needs to be looked at right now..

Destruction Staff

-Destructive Touch: Redesigned this ability and its morphs to function as a DoT, rather than a utility skill.
-Reduced the base cost to 2700 from 4050.
-Reduced the initial hit damage by approximately 17%, but increased the DoT by approximately 167% per tick.
-This ability no longer grants additional bonuses depending on the staff you are using.
-This ability now gains 1.1% damage in rank for the entire ability.
-Reduced the range to 15 meters from 17 meters.

Scatter Shot: This ability is now part of the utility category, with the below changes affect all 3 versions of the ability.

-Increased the cost to 3780 from 2970.
-Reduced the damage by approximately 10%.
-Reduced the range to 22 meters from 28 meters.
-Increased the knock back to 8 meters from 5 meters.
-Magnum Shot (morph): This morph no longer knocks the caster back. Instead, it deals 20% more damage than the other morph, and reduces the cost to 3510.
-Draining Shot (morph): The heal from this ability will now trigger upon dealing damage, rather than when the target is knocked back. Also decreased the heal by approximately 20%.


Can anyone see whats wrong here, as a mag sorc i no longer have a ranged cc its a joke. Now its 15 meters to cc while Scatter Shot is 22 meters? I am using scatter shot as an example because a lot of stam players use it for a ranged cc and a lot of mag players use reach for a ranged cc. Please balance these out at least make Reach 22 meters or correct scatter and make it 15 meters to better align with Reach. If i am reading this wrong please correct me this is unfair though. Either make Reach fair please or give frags a stun back please. /:

    On the plus side, Destructive Reach is now a proper single target DOT skill for mag dps in PVE. We don't want CC on the long range version because stunning mobs in PVE is a bad thing.

    Destructive Reach (morph): This morph retains the unique functionality for each elemental staff type you choose, but no longer deals damage over time. Flame Clench knocks the target back and stuns them for the duration; Frost Clench Immobilizes the target. Shock converts the attack into an AoE explosion, and deals our AoE damage standard.
    Destructive Reach (morph): This morph increases the range to 28 meters and reduces the cost to 2430 at Rank IV.

    I’m thinking there’s a typo there; destructive clench still provides a medium range 15m CC, but at the expense of losing the DOT. Reach remains a 28m DOT.

    Also, it appears the skills have been categorized differently; Destructive Touch is in the DOT category, while Scatter Shot is in the utility category. That might account for the differing ranges. Since Clench loses the DOT, however, and doesn’t bring much else to the table besides the CC and initial damage, the shorter range relative to Scatter Shot doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. Might be wise to advocate on the PTS for increasing Destructive Clench’s range to 22m for fairness’ sake.

    agreed - make draining shot 15m. actually, make it 10m, the light armor destruction class should have the longer range cc at 15m.

    oh wait, I have a better idea - how about we just delete both of these garbage abilities from the game.

    while I think OP is looking at this from a narrow perspective, your suggestion is based on even less thought.

    They are and should provide their feedback. Suggesting someone quit because they have done so is rather inane.

    Why is lightning not a cc anymore, but the other two are? Can we get more info on this "AOE explosion" we get in lieu of a cc?

    I would be completely okay with that delete them as long as its balanced.
