Ok let's get something straight with the chance in the next update and being able to pay crowns to unlock
Alliance War (Assault and Support)
Dark Brotherhood
Thieves Guild
Fighters Guild
Legerdemain
Mages Guild
Undaunted

Skill lines will NOT make you gitgud honestly and you still have to put in that work and already have them maxed out on atleast 1 of your toons so who cares they are honestly just making it more friendly to casual players who dont want to feel left behind. Especially if they jump on the came only a few days a week or even a few days a month or so on. It just makes things easier for them because come on if you no life play this game WE ALL KNOW how easy it is to unlock all of those EXCEPT "Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild" since everything else takes anywhere between a few hours or a few days yes even undaunted only takes a few days of doing pug runs on the dailys so dont give me crap saying it takes longer. And I have 10 toons with max undaunted and I'm kinda glad to see I wont have to grind them out anymore since having 500+ keys makes getting keys at this point pointless. But back on the topic of this garbage you call P2W unlocking those skill lines will not make you a God, they dont make u unkillable and they wont help you 1vX or even Xv1. They dont give you amazing gear sets or weapons or jewelry it honestly gives you NOTHING especially if you dont know how to play the game always, so be happy for your buddy Jim, Beth or Ryan who only jumps on the came every 6 months maybe now they wont have to get carried in pvp unlocking caltrops and vigor or even carried in fungal grotto just to try to rank up there undaunted on a new toon just for once be happy.... BUT about the rest of the patch notes you can cry all you want because I know I did 🤦‍♂️😭😂😉👌

Well. Just think of a level 10 character with access to Dawnbreaker. You can literally buy yourself a combat advantage over other players right there. Having that ult in below50 PvP can be devastating.

From grinding to level 50 in Skyreach Catacombs and the Motalion Necropolis on several characters, I know that getting to level 50 by killing undead only, will not get you to Fighter's guild lvl 10.
    • Edit: Since I wrote this, I have realized that XP boosts have skewed those results and it's possible to get Dawnbreaker earlier already. This changes things obviously and makes the change not nearly as severe as I first thought.
Just think about it. An experienced player makes an alt, buys the Fighter's guild lvl10, creates some awesome gear for his new character and then easily becomes Emperor as similar skilled players that didn't spend money have no access to one of the strongest ultimates in PvP.

I'd say Mage's Guild and Fighter's Guild skill lines should be gated behind your character being lvl50. The rest is fine I guess.

They probably won’t be cheap, considering how expensive they made Skyshards. Grinding these lines is an absolute pain in the rear, and I’d happily pay money to not have to grind Undaunted and Mage’s Guild lines. Fighter’s Guild is NOT hard to grind, and the others are just somewhat useful (legerdemain for better forced locks and DB for Shadow Rider).

You have to have had already completed those skill lines the normal way first before the option to purchase them for alts is unlocked to you.

I do not see the P2W here.

That would honestly be a very good compromise. I approve.

May I add that while it is not hard to grind, it still takes a while and levels your character all the way up to 50.
Meteor and even more so Dawnbreaker are pretty much non-existant below lvl50 and considering their power, it might be a bad idea to only grant paying players access to them.
Remember when "seal clubbing" was a thing in PvP? These times will come back for paying players...

@ArchMikem Even in PvP below lvl50? You might have already completed those skill lines, but non-paying players are at a disadvantage for not getting access to the Dawnbreaker without going above lvl50 in attempting so.
Instead how would you like the compromise that you couldn't pay to max the Fighter's and Mage's guild until you are lvl50? That way below50 PvP wouldn't be affected and veteran players still get around doing those grinds.

Edit: Unfadingsilence made me realize that I was using XP boosts that skewed my results. People below lvl50 can actually have access to Dawnbreaker. My proposal would erase all doubts, but it's not as bad without it as I thought it was.

You can already have dawnbreaker under 50 as well as I have a lvl 15 toon with mage guild maxed out and a lvl 40 with dawnbreaker who's battle leveled who I take in CP pvp it's still not P2W

@Unfadingsilence Where do you grind the undead?
Now that I think about it, my results are probably skewed from ambrosia and events, since those don't affect the fighter's guild XP...

There honestly not pull up all the locations of lore books and have a buddy or do a group guild event and travel to each one and done and if you start from lvl 3 you can unlock dawnbreaker around lvl 35-40

Just do the dolmen run in alikr desert or just kill the undead in motalion necropolis in alikr as well there are many undead grind spots to hit up but doing the dolmens give you around 30-60 experience per dolmen for your fighters skill line maybe a little more I dont look that hard at it
