I do mostly pve and some cyrodiil. I only really do open world stuff. Not interested in dungeons, arenas, trials or battlegrounds. I have done them for the gear, stuff like blackrose prison, asylum, citadel and veteran dungeons, but hate them and am glad when I'm done them. I like public dungeons the most so far. Wish there was more of them and they had dailies and were harder.
I have done PVP in Cyro; I would have done more of it if I was able to. And why can't I...? Riding down to an outpost and getting disconnected before I even see any other player is fun. Real fun.

Solo PvE only. I ran a couple of battlegrounds early in my ESO career and found out PvP here is not my cup of tea in the slightest. I've enjoyed small doses of PvP in other games.
PvE... just got into a good guild and started doing Trials... can't believe how much better a player I've become in a matter of weeks... great helpful guild!
Mainly PVE. But i play enough PVP to get monthly 50 transmute and daily random battlegrounds. I find PVP in MMO's generally lackluster since most of them works on rock–paper–scissors mentality. It requires so much invesment and i find AvAvA flawed. I rather play pure PVP games when i want to play against people.
Mostly PVE. I still feel I need to learn more about PVP and have a proper gear setup, before I throw myself at other players.
This is how I feel. I've been playing since mid-April, I have one character and she's CP337 but I still don't feel confident enough to inflict my lowly skills on other players.
But seriously, I think like so many, I’m here first and foremost for the Elder Scrolls experience, close to the single player games. Or as close as you can get in an MMO.
I have dipped my toes into some Cyro PVP, and while it was exciting, it was also a little stressful. I’m a team player and hate to let anyone down, and I just don’t have the gear or knowledge of how to be good at this game’s PVP.
I do wish the devs could find a way to separate PVP skills/balance from PVE. Trying to make it all one-size-fits-all only makes everyone chafe from the poor fit, and makes so many unhappy when a much beloved class/skill/play style gets radically changed in the endless quest for “balance”.
I’m not a competitive player, but I feel for people who are. Gaming is many things to many people: a source of entertainment, excitement, relaxation, escape from real life stresses and sorrows, and the list could go on and on. When something you love and have so much invested in, emotionally and financially, gets taken away or radically changes, it hurts.
I saw a joke post last night on the forums here, talking about the stages of grief, and while yeah, it’s good for a laugh, I think it’s also good to understand that people are sad and angry, and have some compassion and extend a bit of grace. The pain is real, the sadness is real, and I’m sorry so many in this community are upset right now.
Further, I wouldn’t want to be a game dev or community manager for all the gold in the world. I can’t imagine having angry or dissatisfied customers sending me hate messages or insulting me personally. We gamers are a demanding lot, and of course when we pay for something, we expect to receive satisfaction from our purchase, and deservedly so. The nature of games as a product, I think, can make that kind of tricky...
And....how did this get so long? 😅
TL;DR
I’m wishing love and light to everyone in this community: PVPers, PVEers, and all the ZOS worker bees. I think this ESO virtual village is full of some pretty great and interesting people, and I’m still happy to be part of it. Warts and all. 🥰
I mostly pve and my favorite game content is veteran trials. I do pvp casually, usually when friends want to, and sometimes spend weeks doing nothing in game except BGs when I want a break from pve or to try out a fun build.
These days I pretty much live in Cyro. For the first several years I played, I only played PvE though. First game I've ever done PvP type stuff and I love it so much lol, you never know what will happen or how a fight will end. I think anyone who wants to try it but might be nervous should come out and play with us.

PvE, almost exclusively - spend a significant amount of time Crafting.
Been in Cyrodiil maybe two or three, trying to collect Shards.
Far too many Keybord Heroes who can't actually PvP looking to gank players clearly not engaging in PvP, just to make themselves feel (barely) adequate.
So never went back. No intention of ever doing so.
I get why people like PvP, used to do Competitive PvP in another game, when I was younger and quicker.
But to be honest, if ZOS pulled the plug on PvP in this game I would rejoice, the game would be immeasurably better for it IMO.
