How can you still fight in keeps?

For everyone that still plays this game, how can you still do big keep fights?

I just moved and got much faster internet. I was hopeful this would alleviate some of my lag problems in cyrodil. Boy was I wrong. Skills don't fire, rubber banding, desyncs, and flat out crashing.

How can anyone enjoy this?

I am genuinely curious, this is not a me flaming post.

Dude... I jumped into non-vet the other night because vet was so bad. 2 bars across the board and it was the same thing. Skills dont work, chase people into a tower and 5 seconds later I'm teleported back outside where the chase began. The game is broken.

With great difficulty LOL. I used to PvP quite a lot but now I can't see myself being in there for more than an hour due to the issues Cyrodiil has.

It isn't an optimal experience. I love the game quite a lot, PvP is perhaps one of the final things I need to learn in the game next to tanking. I've only really dabbled in Cyrodiil for the most part. But I want to learn the differences between PvP & PvE play styles so I'm trying to just do PvP content w/my new Magicka Necromancer so as to learn PvP w/the build before learning how to PvE with the build. I did grind the character in Spell Scar, but there wasn't really any type of rotation there, just grinding.
I borrowed Alcast's Champion point load-out for this particular class in PvP, but I want to learn most of the rest on my own.

In large battles it truly can be a struggle...sometimes more than others for whatever reason. I experience the occasional crash in PvE, but it pales in comparison to PvP. I get frozen game & blue screened more in Cyrodiil than anywhere else, doing anything else. It simply comes down to numbers. I don't like to talk ill of a game I truly enjoy so much, I'm here only trying to be informative and helpful.
I've noticed (for whatever reason) that when I end up in group in Cyr, depending on who's leading the group things tend to move and function much more smoothly and consistently. Why? I do not know exactly. But I was reminded of Call of Duty titles in the past...whoever had host that particular match, they could be slightly ahead of the rest in functionality.
It made me wonder if the host makes a difference in Cyrodiil?

I don't know how things in a game like this work and I won't pretend to. All I can offer is that I notice what I notice and maybe it's nothing. Feng claimed in his stream last night that CP Cyrodiil is more prone to these laggy types of experience due to CP, more math needed calculating playing a role in the negative aspect of game play. But that's just hearsay and I cannot speculate the comments authenticity. It doesn't sound far-fetched necessarily, but who truly knows...I do not.

All I have seen and experienced with my own to eyes is one of the group leads I was a part of, I experienced minimal lag and the like while running in that particular group w/that particular Crown. Is it because of their connection/location to the server related to mine? I don't know, but those problems were much less of an issue at that time and we were even able to skirt through larger battles with relative ease and get where we needed to go in a particular fight with minimal resistance to game play and functionality. It is possible that it could have been from pushing forward or rushing in to a particular area of battle before the majority of the enemy were able to start releasing their respective skills, potions, ults, etc. If we beat them to the punch perhaps our numbers were all calculating first?

But it's like I said, I don't know what the reasons are and/or what the cause/causes may be. I'm just sharing information.
I feel like I'm getting a better grasp on PvP game play and I would like to have a smoother experience in Cyrodiil to keep trying to improve upon it and to have better control over my character so I can do so efficiently.
I will continue my support of the game as I am able as I truly love the experience it provides me as a whole. It's a remarkable game, beyond most all others, if not all, in my opinion. I truly believe they are always working on improvements and fixes. Sometimes it's just more frustrating than others and that should be understandable.

I just hope one day my PvP game is on par with some of the mightiest. Will it happen? Who knows...but I'll be here trying and working around the technical difficulties the best that I am able.

One of the best ways to do it as a solo player is to try to predict the big battles through zone chat and move to those keeps early.

For me, riding up to a big fight already in progress is a great way to crash. Its like my field of view hits the battle site and just can't cope and I crash. But if I'm there as the big fight develops, the rendering strain isnt quite so sudden.

That's far from a perfect solution, but I've found it helps.

I'm on PC-EU, Cyrodiil no-cp, went fairly smoothly, got strawberry jammed by the blueberry section within keeps and outposts and vice-versa. If I can't swap I'm stunned. No major issues I know off. But it doesn't need to be the same for anybody else.
During the last days I experienced very short loading-screens thrice in the middle of action.

This weekend is the first time I have gone to Cyrodiil in a couple of months. Been busy with trials. I've spent time PvPing for the past three days mostly during prime time and guess I am getting lucky. I've had very few problems even when large groups clash. They only problem I've had so far is one random load screen and while repairing walls I was transported outside the keep and around the back a bit one time.
For the most part no lag and a decent frame rate.

It is concerning how many players are having problems and I really expected to run into the same things. Odd that it isn't happening to me. Probably because I don't teabag?

I mean what kind of Internet do yall have? I have a decent computer it's not top notch but still I don't have problems running other games.

Like just earlier today I'm in some fights around nik, it's getting laggy, I'm zerg surfing around. I decide to go roe and take a resource. I start killing npcs, slowly, mercy took 3 cast to activate, swallow soul had a 1-2 second cast delay, Lotus fan had a weird animation and desync, never knew I was in bubble, fail cast soul harvest, mercy went down because all the lag so I fail cast it.

After that I just logged

I honestly think people in big groups just really don't notice it as much.

Nice rig and low latency is the main issue, download speed is less important unless you have other users on it to.

One tips is to check if you have enough free memory that has gotten me an few times, chrome leaks a lot of memory for one.

The lag is bad for everyone. ZOS loaths talking about it because if they acknowledge it they know that we will want it fixed. Even when they do acknowledge the lag and bugs, they say they'll work on it but well 5 years later and we still crash in larger fights, lag out with 999+ ping, our skills take 5+ seconds to cast, can't even swap bars, and when it's all over were stuck in combat for the next 5+ minutes or till we die.

Don't get me wrong I love the game but I hate the way ZOS manages their game. I know they can do so much better but they don't which drive me mad.

I never suffered from lag until Murkmire. I was one of the few who could last a whole keep battle back in the Azuras Star days. Now it's just terrible for me. I even built a better rig since then. I'm at a loss.

If it's any consolation to you, I am thee most hated and feared in all of Cyrodiil. I am 40% cause of the lag up there too. Cuz I spark things up. Even zos is afraid.

So Google fiber claims 1000mb up and 1000mb down but its more like 600 down and 850 up. Still amazing for anywhere in the US. I've had that for a while. Then I put a GTX 1060 (6GB) version. That actually made a big dif.

I don't know this to be fact but I am of the opinion that your upload speed is a bit more important when it comes to things like skills not going off when you press the buttons or swapping weapons. When you stroke a key (heh) is uploading that keystroke as opposed to using the download side of the signal. Most internet providers boast about download speeds and pay no mind to the upside. I started caring about it when I made a lot of videos and was uploading for hours on end. Better performance has been the result of a much much better card and a giant increase in my upstream as compared to a lot of people.

This is something I used to do just because it can really help on rigs that just....cant. One bar builds can be very effective.

That sort of thing sometimes happens to me when I'm racing to the banker-- but it's usually because I accidentally hit the R key instead of the E key and activated my Psijic skill-line ultimate.

I can't fight in keeps. I am unable to since my bar swap, potions, skills, light/heavy attacks and ult doesn't go off, but I can watch others attemt it. Although any zergs around a keep seem to spam light attacks and snipe fine, so maybe lag decreases with how large your group gets.

It's not you. I have fiber and a new rig and still lag. Some specs and playstyles are more forgiving in lag than others. Magblade and magplar dps seemed to suffer the worst in lag. That and trying to use Dizzying Swing.

Nothing like smacking a Dawnbreaker and watching the target teleport back behind you because SHE'S lagging.
