i am just wondering with all the reported login issues that the EU server seems to be having around peak times if ZOS have restricted logins to help spread the load on the server (as they have done before) only this time kept it quiet?

Unlikely. The offices are mostly closed for the 4th, so doing that would have required people signing off who aren't there.
