PvP build: Sword & shield backbar worth it?

So I'm slowly working on my PvP build, as my next project, now I've got all the skills needed for my PvE stamblade.

Was just wondering if I could utilise S&B for a defensive fallback? If this is worth pursuing, what would you recommend for my frontbar? DW, 2H or bow?

S&B is a must if you want to melee, combine it with either DW or 2H. If you want range play bow and 2h.

Thanks dude. I'm of half a mind to go DW for my frontbar as that will reduce the skill points I need to invest as it's my PvE frontbar already. Would you be of agreement?

I play a DW + S&B Stamblade, but keep in mind that on Stamina builds that use S&B, it's usually the front-bar -- the other bar is for DoTs, buffs, utility, or execute. It's not my favourite character to play, but it works great, especially in CP Cyrodiil or IC. Has about 28k resistances and 4.4k WD, in addition to Minor Protection, in medium armour.

Sounds good. Front bar or back bar doesn’t mean to much to me, just switch to whichever bar situationally. Defensive go S&B, offensive go DW.

Grab reverb strike from S&B, use dark cloak and vigor. If you’re in trouble block on the S&B bar. Then just mess around and come up with a setup you like. Rending and spin to win are great abilities for the DW bar.

I'm the same with the whole frontbar/backbar thing. I mean, they have no impact on stats last I checked. I switched my PvE bow and DW around just so I could have a bow on my back in character select.

Stats are the same. I can see where people might be coming from if they use addons, or if they use the same weapon type in both bars. I don't use any UI-altering addons though, and always run different weapons. So outside of inventory, there's zero indication to backbar/frontbar. I digress though.

Yeah I need to grind some skill points of course, and level up my S&B skill. Like I said in my OP the PvP build is a slow project. I look forward to getting it in a playable state, as I'll be ready to hit Cyrodiil!

I’d try something like this? I main a magblade and was terrible on my stamblade so switched it to have two magblades:

It’s missing a charge, you could get rid of absorb magic but with all the sorcs out there I don’t know what would be better. Start with the cookie cutter sets and then develop a style for how you like to play.

In starter BGs all you need to do is hit a heal every once and a while to dominate. It gets a lot tougher later.
