Chest Re spawning time? Rant!

One thing I hate about this game is when some "anonymous" player swoops in and steals the chest you were about to open! I wish the was some game rule against this!!! I hate the fact it takes forever for a chest to respawn in a dungeon, etc.. There needs to be some mechanic when two people encounter a chest at the same time? Draw straws or pick a number or something? Battle for the right to open the chest first? Something that is a lot fairer than to whoever gets to it first? It really annoys me!! And I absolutely hate that player. I am sure you'll say something to the effect "He/She is just playing the game" We both hit the chest at the same time but I got pushed out!! There needs to be a limit on how many times you can attempt to open a chest? Give someone else a chance? But anyways I hunted the player down And has some fun with them at their expense

Oh my god. Why do you care? Why does anyone care about chests in this game still? They hold next to nothing. You can honestly find more value in looting a barrel full of rice.

When you arrive at the same time, generally the one who gets it is the one with less ping. As for dueling for it.... whatever. I deal with pretty high ping, so if I get the "someone else is using this" message, I just shrug and go on. It's not that big a deal to me.

From the folks who have tested this, respawn time is roughly 10 minutes.

But if someone swoops in and grabs a node while I was fighting the mobs that normally guard it, I like to tag them with the Mudball emote. They still get the node, but it gets my point across: I'm another player, and I think that was a jerk move.

Mudballs come from a festival. They are free, but you have to work for them.

Of you did not get the mud ball emote firing the Jester event, you can buy it cheap in the guild stores.

Hot key it and make a mess

If the first person to reach the chest fails at picking it, they cannot try again for a couple of seconds. That gives someone else a chance to pick it.

There's a runebox for it that you can obtain from the New Life Festival for the Auridon quest. There are probably some for sale still in guild stores.

The chest is yours after you open it. There's no "someone stole my chest" in this case, because it's almost impossible to tell if the other player didn't even saw you in most of these cases.

It sucks when you try to open a chest, then a random enemy aggros on you, and another person uses this opportunity to grab the chest, but that's how it is.

This is why I only loot those chests, when I'm sure there's no one around.

It’s annoying in zones where folks farm chests for gear like Mothers Sorrow in Deshaan or Necropotence in Rivenspire for example, for those who think they are all garbage

I steal chests from other players. I get chests stolen by other players.

At least one aspect of the game is in balance.
