Campaign Faction Lock Ruins Friendships :(

I miss the days of being able to PvP with friends I made on this game. The days when you met a homie who happened to play on another faction, so you made a character to play with them in cyrodil. Now those characters mentioned before are useless. They sit in the character selection screen, collecting dust.

This is only true in No CP PVP because ZOS in their "wisdom" didn't give an unlocked option.

If you are playing CP PVP, please say what you actually mean:

"I can't play with my friends in all factions in the campaign I want."

Because you can go play with your new friends in the 7-day CP campaign. You just can't play with them in the 30-day campaign.

I honestly don't understand this argument anyway. If your friends were all the same faction, you wouldn't have any issue. If your friends were another faction, then you had to make alternate characters of a different faction to play with them anyway regardless of the lock. Solution is simple, get together with said friends, pick a faction to stick with, and grind out chars for it if you don't have one. With your friends helping, it barely takes any time at all. Problem solved.

No, it means they can't play on an active campaign but can group and wander around an empty map for a while if they like.

Exactly, you can still play with friends, only not in the main campaign (and actually you can still play with them if you both agree to be on the same campaign when it resets). Way to go for sensationalism in the title.

My problem with your argument is that its not true for CP. You can go play with your friends on the 7 day.

Multifaction CP players could, if they wanted to, make the effort to play with their alts or their friends on the 7 day.

If you don't want to be corrected, don't say something that isnt true for CP players.

That's a self-fulfilling prophecy. If no one goes over there because its empty, it'll stay empty. If no one goes over because "I can't find good fights there", well of course no one is going to find good fights over there. Players (at least on PC/NA) would rather sit in queue for the 30 Day than play on the 7 day while they wait and then complaining, that its empty.

And none of that changes the fact that you can play with friends or alts on the CP 7 day. You may not want to, but you can.

That's correct and I won't argue with that. You can't play with ALL your friends on the campaign you want. That's what ZOS did by reinstituting faction locks, and I'm not sure I like that part of faction locks even while I acknowledge other benefits they bring.

But you do yourself and your argument no favors by stating something that isn't true.

Yup it sucks that you aren't able to play with the people and characters you want to anymore. Apparently faction RPing is more important than that. Of which doesn't really make much sense since you are able to play in other faction's territories and see different faction players within them past one tamriel. A nice compromise would be being able to select a faction at the start of each campaign for your characters to play on but I doubt ZOS will spend the time adding such a feature.

Hopefully. I can see people from casual guilds having an issue because they can’t group with their casual friends, but the pvpers who faction hopped to always imbalance the campaigns ruined it.

Also if you weren’t such a beta who didn’t have conviction and follower you can still have friendships and respect for enemies but be your own gamer and just do you, regardless of what faction your ‘friends’ do. (Dis is tough love, I want you to grow as a gamer)

But I think it’s great, since they allow you to play with your friends in 7day campaign and also you are free to group up in battlegrounds.

It doesn’t sound like you were very good friends if you weren’t willing to communicate to each other what faction you were going to play on and then all play on that one together. Unless what alliance you are playing on is more important than your friendship, it would seem like you would just switch and play together...

You can still be friends, you just can't cheat in Cyrodiil. Try Battlegrounds... the team colors there are even representative of how super allowed it is to play with your cross-faction homies.

They are dead because people seem to refuse to change to get what they want, they sit in 30 day moaning. Either adapt and get what you want or plan the 30 day with mates. Plenty of ways to over come it (except for noCP granted)

Too many zerglings are satisfied with waiting in a 30-day campaign queue because they’re afraid they won’t be able to find a big enough group in the 7-day to avoid getting farmed.

I’m fine with going to the 7-day, I never wait in a queue more than 20 for the 30-day, but because of the fact I’ve just stated above, it’s usually pretty empty since zerglings are afraid to enter.
