You guys need to set 16 Anisotropic Filtering in your respected GPU control panel

I just did, and it's like getting a free upgrade. I also enabled mfaa, not sure if that did anything but regardless, the game looks incredible now.

Get that option enabled, and have fun.

MFAA is essentially dead since it relies on MSAA, and MSAA doesn't work properly with deferred shading, which most modern games use to look nicer.

Also, I'm pretty sure ESO uses it's own AF, since the setting is listed in it's usersetting file.

I did say I didn't think mfaa did anything.

AF 100% did do something though, and the difference is striking

Yep, on ESO my custom game profile, not only overwrite AF, but the AA with 2x Supersampling, Texture Filtering to High, while forcing the ingame engine to render at 4K, for 2560x1440 monitor.
There is no loss in performance (8600K @ 5Ghz and Vega 64), yet everything looks much better.

On AMD cards also (Vega especially), to boost performance you set the P7 state as the minimum state. Job done.

I had a 1080 that I had to RMA 3 times. On the advice of a friend I tried the vega 64. VERY happy with the difference!

FPS for me in Cyro or very active 12 man fights 1080 vs vega 64 is negligible, but difference in graphics quality is profound. Makes me hopeful they will be able to make Navi something special. We'll see.

would that yield any improvement in visual fidelity if you play in 4k anyhow?

Can anyone explain how you do all this please?

@rumple9 I have a Nvidia graphics card so this works for me:
Go to your Nvidia control panel.
Upper left area, under 3D settings, select Manage 3D Settings.
In the main box now in the middle of your screen select Global Settings.
Look down the list of features and find Anisotropic Filtering.
To the right side of Anisotropic Filtering, you can drop down a menu with several choices.
You might consider 8x or 16x.

Yeah, telling us console users to go kick rocks...
Ebonheart Pact, Nord Templar/healer on NA Xbox server. My main toon WAS a tall and foxy redhead - now she has been gamma-irradiated and has green skin and black hair. 3 other characters I only use for writs. Can't be bothered to create multiple toons - EXCEPT now my WW is getting spooled up for Cyrodiil - Blood For The Pact! IRL cranky sometimes redhead chick at large in Las Vegas, NV

With 16x forced anisotropy in control panel:

    With in game anisotropy:

    Forced 16x:

    In-game:

Can you tell the difference? Because I can't. Maybe you are using in-game settings that turn off the in-game anisotropy? Like low quality or something?

Your GPU control panel must not be well respected.
