I like the way you are thinking ...

A good red wine beats beer any day (And i'm from Germany) but whiskey is my goto drink to wrap up a good night.

Other: any alcohol, except sweet liqueurs. Seriously. I had beer with lunch today, and I'm having my usual wine this evening. When we get together with friends, it can be either beer, wine, mixed drinks, or sometimes tequila shooters, or whiskey shots with beer back. Another set of friends, we get straight scotch (husband not happy, though I am, as it's Grouse), or sometimes flavored vodka (which is okay, but I prefer Grey Goose thanks).

Keep in mind that I live in Utah.... which is hardly "drinking country". But of course over the years since we moved here, we've made friends who don't have the local religious culture in the way.

    Where's the option for neither?

Nasty stuff. A glass of either makes me euphoric for ten minutes, sleepy and depressed for an hour, then destroys my innards for the next day :# Too bad, because Guinness is the nectar of the gods while you're drinking it.

Oh.... I should say.... the nectar of the gods is Bailey's Irish Cream on the rocks. We buy a bottle just before Christmas, and thoroughly enjoy every drop of it, sitting in front of a roaring fire in the fireplace, all the decorations in place, holiday music playing, or one of the holiday movies from years past on tv.

There's a lot to be said for traditions. This is one of ours, will be 44 years this Christmas.

“Hey, careful, man, there's a beverage here!”

Different drink, but still put a smile on thinking about this quote. Luv a white russian on a summer night.

Husband loves Kahlua and White Russians, and yes, he also loves most liqueur based drinks. I'm - I guess you can say a "purist" when it come to alcohols. I want them straight for the most part, and unadulterated.

Of the two definitely wine, but only a sweet wine. I like sweet things. I am a stereotype.
