Nightblade unable to stealth

I recently made the plunge and created a nightblade with a friend solely intended to gank. My problem is being able to stealth, I engage in combat while in stealth, but when i try to cloak and keep stealth by kneeling as well, it does nothing. keeps saying im detected and nobody is around me. Its so stupid and impairs my ability to even be a nightblade. Also why is it when you die, sometimes you respawn and are still in combat. Something needs to be done about that stupid in combat mechanic. But my huge problem is my nightblade not being able to go stealth. I can be in the open after we have killed someone and go to just kneel and it wont go stealth, says im detected and there is nothing around. Please for the love of God Zenimax look into my account and see what is wrong with this character. @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom @ZOS_GaryA @ZOS_RichLambert ....PLEASE HELP!

If you line of sight the location you were last seen from, and/or spam cloak for a long enough period of time you will return to the hidden state when crouched.

This is total ***, I have put in tickets and asked on social media to get help on fixing my character and nothing. No replies from anyone on the dev team. Still cant stealth properly . I go stealth and it still says NOPE NOT TODAY! SO STUPID.

Okay here is what just happened, I was detected during a fight. I spammed cloak to get away. Well from Sejanus all way up to blue road keep i was still detected and unable to go stealth with noone around me. My buddy and me had to walk the whole way trying to go stealth from Sejanus. Oh and by the way we were in combat the whole time from keep to keep which is ridiculous. My buddy actually had the same problem as me tonight and was not able to cloak for about a minute or so. And again know one was around us . Dont know what is going on but its ruining my nightblade experience. Wish someone from the dev team would at least look into this.

Are you sure you have the right morph of cloak? One morph will heal you for a percentage of your health and does not make you invisible. You should also put skill points into the passive in the shadow tree if you haven’t already. That will increase the amount of time your shadow skills are active, so you can cloak longer in a single cast.

I've had similar issues in PvP, with NB cloak and even just trying to stealth with literally no one around. It's been a while but I want to say I only remember it happening hand-in-hand with the stuck in combat bug... might have something to do with it?
Whatever causes it, definitely annoying and I've experienced it before as well.

Its the classic "in combat" bug. You will not be able to crouch and enter stealth (not cloak! cloak works fine) while you have a NPC guard aggroed on yourself(guards are the most common cause) The guard is supposed to de-aggro after a while, but in high lag(which means almost always in cyro) the NPC wont deaggro and you wont be able to enter sneak by crouching. Distance does not matter.

Fastest workaround to fix it (in that one instance) and exit combat is to just die and respawn. Jump off a keep twice.

I have the right morph for cloak and the passives. I was not targeted by any guards . I was not able to go stealth for nearly a minute. From one keep to the other on foot. It also kept me in combat the whole time.

I can cloak just fine. Thats not the issue, its when i attack a player/s I use cloak then crouch to go stealth an it doesnt let me. Oh and while crouched on a rock in stealth watching the keep get sieged, it just pulls me out of stealth for no reason. My buddy is right beside me in stealth an never gets pulled out. Its bugged to hell.

What gear do you have on? Do you throw out dots like poison injection or cripple? Some gear is infamous for combat bugs

Wearing slimecraw, marksman and swamp raider. I do poison arrow an lethal. Just wish the game worked right

This isn't nightblade specific. I've had the exact same issue, you crouch down to stealth, no one is around, no mob is around, but it says "detected". This can go on for 5 minutes. Its very annoying , as you state. It may be related to the combat bug but I believe I've had it happen when not in combat. I'll check next time it happens.

This happens to me too. I think it's some kind of weird bug.

Yea I've been hearing its not just a nightblade thing that people are unable to stealth at times. PvP is all messed up and they know it. That's the reason we are not getting a midyear mayhem this year, yet they seem like they ignore it and push out crown store updates LOL

I wish that someone from the devs would just come out and communicate with the community and tell us your fixing this *** in pvp and not waiting 3 months down the road. I can not stealth properly along with so many other players. This is so stupid.

Inflicting damage may pull you out of stealth if you are crouching. So poison injection /poisoned status may be the cause.

Nah thats been tested it lets me stealth sometimes after doing damage buy most of the time i escape and get a long ways away even into my on keep and cant stealth

Please for the love of God Zenimax fix the ability to go stealth in PVP. I was unable to stealth for over a minute. Its killing my nightblade

I’ve had a similar issue but it’s not just nightblades it’s every class. Sometimes when crouching it won’t let you enter stealth, must just be a side effect of server performance right now.

No need to worry. I'm sure they are working hard on a fix for this problem. Just like the stuck in combat bug they fixed.

They seem to close threads but will not reply that they are looking into my problem and many other peoples problems of stealth being broke in PVP. I can escape in open plains of Cyrodiil with no dot on me and the little eye that tells you your stealth always says detected, no matter how many times i hit cloak and kneel it wont stealth. Works about 10% of the time. Wish they would look into this along with being in combat for 3 minutes at a time while your know where near combat.

To be honest, the nerf to cloak for anyone not having the passives in is simply horrid. 1 second of cloak isn't worth anything.

I'll tell you why - the animation is longer than the 1 second. even if you sit tapping your cloak repeatedly, you never truly go into cloak...

It means lower level nightblades just simply cannot use this ability anymore. The advantage in PVE to playing on a nightblade was a good one. The ability to do the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves guild lines and cloak - made the class worth playing alone. Now? Awful experience for lower level characters. Pointless being a nightblade when you need potions to go invisible lol.

That's about par for the course sadly. I sent in a ticket almost 3 weeks ago and haven't heard a peep.

Cyro is a MESS right now with the "in combat" bug. The other day I was unable to mount for about 20 minutes straight even after dying two or three times in the duration, just kept telling me I was "in combat" even after I respawned in a friendly keep.

This is a somewhat misleading post. By all the OP is saying, he is talking about crouch and, yes, you can get stuck in combat, in which case I guess that won't work. That's broken af. As a magblade (my main), on the other hand, who only uses Cloak (Shadowy Disguise) and not Crouch, there are zero issues.

Because you are still in combat with the enemy you last fought since neither he nor you died.
It does not matter you have no dot on you, its not the damage keeping you from stealthing, its the fact you are in combat.
Go die somewhere (or wait until he does) then you will be able to sneak again.

Simplest solution is to not run away from a fight. Continue fighting until either you win or lose. Then most of these issues go away.

Not the case i do agree with u its something to do with in combat but my buddy is also a nightblade and targets same people at the same time an stealths away. I can be out of combat behind a rock and kneel an says im detected

Tested snipe morphs lethal arrow and focused aim. It appears that using lethal arrow prevents me from going stealth. It shouldnt do that should it? I have submitted a ticket on it.
