@N00BxV1 thanks those are some great pointers!! I've noticed there's at least one addon out there that's supposed to make gamepads work better... I'm not sure exactly what it does though. Do you use any add-ons to improve gamepad experience?
Exactly what I did. Back paddle on left for bar swap, back paddle on right for potions consumption

Same
I avoid game pad add-ons or preset configurations like the plague, BTW. They almost always screw stuff up. I only changed the mapping of potion and weapon swap.
I haven't played KM much so IDK how things work there, but with the controller it is super important to not mash your LA button (right trigger, I think?). When you weave, hit it once and then remove your finger entirely. Things go sideways for me if I don't do this. Otherwise... Muscle memory. It's all I really know so it feels very natural to me, so just keep practicing! People are surprised to hear that I use a controller when they see my parses/DPS. I think that the major disadvantage associated with controller play is almost entirely due to the lack of add-ons for console players and a lot less to do with playing with a controller than people realize. So on PC you should be fine, best of both worlds IMO.
For PC players that switched to gamepad... How long did it take you to get used to the new interface? I'm finding animation canceling/weaving way harder and keeping a rotation is not going well.

On Xbox i switch bar swap and crouch. Pushing in the right thumb is way easier / smoother than left on the D pad. Know alot of guys that do it.
I prefer my games on the PC & with a controller.. So here I am. Anyways I've been using an XB1 controller and things have been pretty decent. I hadn't even considered getting an Elite controller for the back buttons until I came across this thread. I'll have one arriving Tuesday lol. So I definitely will map weapon swap to a back button.
So two things I've noticed are not fully consistent are Y+B Synergy activations & RB+LB Ultimate Activations. It could be the specific controller I'm using (XBox PC controller that came w/ my Rift). I tried using another barely-used XB1 controller but the RBumper is finicky. Is it possible to map individual back buttons to each of these? I doubt it, but that would be awesome.
Even if I can't, I'm lookin forward to having back button weapon swap!
One thing that hasn’t been mentioned, it’s a LOT easier to light attack weave if you remap the light attack from the trigger to the x button.
Trigger’s weird for light attacking because it has to be pressed and released to fire. My dps went up significantly after I remapped it and got used to it.

You can map pretty much anything to whatever. The controller even starts with some weird ass presets lol. But what I like is that you can make multiple presets for different games(and name them). Then all you do is go to the list and set whatever preset you want in spot 1/2. I always keep my first preset normal with no back paddles active, and the second is my gaming one.
