With the resurgence of magsorc pet builds I'm finding it harder to Target enemies bc you cannot target through.

Small matriarchs would solve this. What do you all think?

Kind of like when I'm casting at a big enemy... and it strikes a rat.

I support this. They should be the size of a nixad, then they wouldn't be totally in the way at crafting areas either. I quit using my matriarch because she annoyed the mess out of me flapping in my face all the time, right at eye level. At least the little clannfear stays on the ground.

Matriarchs are a big mistake of @ZOS. They look cool at a first glance. Yet they are super annoying for both the owner and other players. Fisrt, a size. They are way too big. Second - those flopping wings. They give me headache, and this is not an exaggeration. They do give me headache - I tried to use Matriarch in my build. A size of Nixad would be great. No flopping wings would be awesome.

Finally, why not make them look like an orb? A nice ball floating near the character. It could even have a special outfit slot!

Something between you and the target is still an obstacle. It would do little to change the targeting issue.

OP does seem to be talking about PvE and I have never found targeting an issue when there were many pet sorc builds in the group. I did a pet sorc run through a trial a couple years ago and did not have an issue. No one commented they were having problems targeting.

A better option would be to make the detector selective.

My issue with them is at crafting dailies or any other interactable item. Your crosshair can point directly on the item, but you don't get the option to interact with it, cause a matriarch is standing to close.

If they could make them smaller or stop flapping their wings constantly, that would be great.

What is a detector? I do not recall having anything that could detect something.

+1. I have quit playing sorc because of this annoying horsecrap. I can live with flopping wings but constant leleporting on my head and taking half of the screen is just horrible.

How about we just make them an invisible buff? OH OH I know! Let's make your character just be a single pixel square as well! Seriously...you think people would at least suggest something like "Let us have a dremora summon, let us have a fire atronach." but yeah...who needs cool looking abilities in an Elder Scrolls game, let's just tone everything down into the most minimalistic effects.

God I *** hate the people who play this game so much.

Um. This is not just an Elder Scrolls game; it is an Elder Scrolls MMORPG with PVP. In a game with PVP, skills are frequently balanced and rebalanced to ensure that one class does not have an unfair advantage. Pet sorcs are able to hide behind their pets and mitigate damage to a greater extent than intended. It is extremely frustrating as a non-pet player to have single target ultimates/executes/etc hit the pet, instead of the intended target — especially when said target is free to hit you with everything they’ve got, as you don’t have a mobile meat shield like they do.

I’d be down for smaller pets or, alternatively, a better targeting system. I’d even be down for a system that transfers some of the damage done to the pet to the player controlling the pet.

So true ;) Thats why pets just should stay outside of shops, banks and crafter areas.

Twilights just need to fly about 30% higher off the ground to solve most of the issues.

Turning off collision, and making combat pets transparent to specific actions like being able to click on doors and nodes would be a solution to other issues, if they could do that without making the pets unable to perform their roles.
The problem with society these days is that no one drinks from the skulls of their enemies anymore.

I'd be happy with an option to have it visible through, kinda shadowy like Shadowrend. Or like hurricane effect. That would be nice too.

Last night we almost had to have all the specs put there birds away on twins bc ppl couldn't see there feet or heads for conversions. It didn't help that the game wasn't giving the combat text ( on console ) either.
Them the tank couldn't see or Target adds bc of the flock of birds kept getting in the way.So annoying.
I know some of you are very protective ( a little too much in my opinion ) of your birds but having them half the size really isn't going to make a difference.
