Former. I have never seen a farewell thread that was more productive than a complaint thread. There are plenty of complain threads. ZOS has publicly admitted that they need to and are working on performance.
I don't see how a farewell thread would make ZOS aware of things that they've never seen in the hourly performance complaint threads.
Also, it isn't like ZOS is hiding the complaint threads. Complaint threads often get locked because people break very reasonable parts of the TOS (such as not flaming) and then act like their free speech was unfairly suppressed when the thread gets closed. When the entire reason the thread got locked is that those same people broke very desirable parts of the TOS and made the thread useless.
Also, in before thread lock for breaking TOS.

For as long as you've been here vs. my time here, even I know that quit threads are subject to locking/closing. Why are people making a conspiracy about this now?

There is no free speech on a private company's forum....

Certainly not First Amendment protections. Natural rights to free speech in abstract is a different beast that still wouldn't apply. There aren't any natural rights to free speech that ZOS would be compelled to respect.
