Please no crying or flaming, if you have an opinion about whether you support Leave or Remain I don't care, use another post.

Guys could you please provide us a definitive workaround before you patch the known issue with Alliance Locked Campaigns.

Scenario;

I have 6 EP Characters.
I am Alliance locked to EP for the previous campaign.
All 6 Characters are in currently located in Cyrodiil.
I want to lock my alliance to AD for this months 30 day CP campaign.

What do I do?

I have an open ticket, no response.

    I am long-time advocate for a faction-lock option.

I am flabbergasted that when the global option for faction lock was switched on for the new campaign, that the devs failed to ensure that faction assignment would reset at the end of the campaign.

This is a significant issue for multi-faction players that warrants an immediate fix.

One of the ways to fix this could be this:
You can change alliance as long as you got 0 points on the scoreboard.
This way you don't need to previously unlock the other characters when the campaign resets.

I think they erroneously assumed that everyone remembered how to swap campaigns. Heck, I didn't remember! The last time I swapped campaigns (abandon the old one, paying AP or waiting till the end of the campaign for free) was during a Midyear Mayhem event and then ZOS gave free campaign swaps.

Ideally, I'd like to see the faction swap reset at the end of each campaign month and each player get the same warning each time they queue into Cyrodiil for the first time in a campaign cycle.

But failing that, having a Midyear Mayhem style campaign reset that's free would be great for everyone who wants it.

Either give us the option to choose a faction thats account wide

    OR

Give us a 30 day cp non faction locked campaign.

I simply want to play all the characters i grinded. Id be perfectly fine if they were all on the same campaign. Had they not put the option for all races on one behind a paywall I would have.

Its asinine to have a faction lock and not give us the option to utilize all characters on one.

Alts become wasted investments as well as a large portion of this game.

    I don't have a clue how it's done, either.

Which suggests to me that attention should have been devoted to making faction re-assignment simple, intuitive, and really hard to screw up.

IIRC (like I said, its been a long time), this is how to swap and rejoin at the start of a new campaign.

You have to abandon the campaign that's in progress. You have the choice to do it right away, which costs AP, OR you can choose to do it at the end of the campaign for free. Then make sure the first character you log into the 30-day campaigns is of the faction you want to be faction locked to that campaign.

So unfortunately, unless ZOS pulls a Midyear Mayhem style free campaign swap for everyone, we're all stuck with our current faction for another month. This isn't a problem for me, since I'm faction loyal to EP, but this a pain in the butt for anyone who wanted to swap and assumed ZOS would actually make the process obvious instead of relying players knowing/remembering how to swap campaigns.

This is just a tad onerous, don't you think?

I'm sure ZoS will find a way to fix the issue expeditiously, but nickel bet says we'll have to wait for an incremental patch.

I'm guessing you haven't logged in to any of the EP characters yet?

Have you logged in to an AD character, assigned that campaign as your home and/or tried to enter it?

For anyone interested, this is how I worked around the current issue with faction locks.

I had to wait until prime time and co-ordinate with my friend if there was any EP queue for Cyrodiil. Once there was a queue, I could login to each EP char and then it would remove me from Cyro and locate me to some overland zone. From there I needed to de-home the home campaign (100k AP x 6 Characters). After this I could then change my home campaign and lock to AD.

How they can fix this is when the campaign ends everyone is booted from Cyro and placed back where they Q'd up.
