Berserkers Strike Gank Build advice

I want to create a gank build with Clever Alchemsit, kena and velidreth monster pieces and agility rings.

I can’t decide on a race. I’m thinking orc for the flat increased weapon damage but as I’ll be playing a nightblade and using the cloak, should I pay khajit for the extra crit damage?

Thanks :)

Clever Alchimist + Sword Singer + Balorgh

In this case I would pick Khajit over Orc because you already achieve a crazy amount of weapon damage and stacking crit damage could be more potent IMO.

Good advice here. However, if you really wan't to run Clever Alchemist, you'll have to initiate combat before going in for the gank. So my advice would be to run the masters bow on your back bar and poison inject the person before you go in for the gank. Also... Use Onslaught.

IDK if I would recommend Clever for a a gank build. You can only proc clever while in combat. So if you are opening from stealth, you have to pop a potion after you have already engaged, which really hinders your gank attempt.

Personally, I would recommend Hundings, Sword Singer and Balorg. As much raw stats as possible without reliance on procs. Balorgh being the exception. Also, infused weapon damage jewelry.

Forgot to add, if you really want to use Agility jewelry, I would run the Asylum two hand, helps keep you ultimate up if the onslaught fails to kil.

Without infused jewelry, you can get 4K raw weapon damage from just Hundings, agility, and mixed weapon damage 1pc monster sets. With Balorgh and buffs and infused jewelry, you can probably push 7K+ weapon damage.

Orc or Kahjit is interesting. At most, with cloak, you can guarantee 1 hit from stealth will be a crit. So, if you open with a simple light attack weave and maybe a surprise attack first. Either the light attack or the SA is going to consume that auto crit. If you open with Onslaught, there is a chance that it doesn't kill them outright. Especially because it ignores resistances but doesn't ignore -% damage taken. So major and minor protection and crit resistance as well.

So, if you are relying on crit damage, in a gank burst window, you may only get 1 crit hit in from your cloak crit. And unless you are opening with Onslaught, that crit is going to be used on a light attack or a spammable skill like surprise attack.

I would say, if your crit chance is below 50%, run with Orc for more raw damage. Damage that isn't going to be "missed" if you fail to crit on Onslaught.

If you are over 50% crit change, Kahjit could be a good choice. Your more likely going to make more out of the crit damage during a gank as you will have more chance to crit on more than your opening skill.

    Automaton/Clever Alchemist(Front Bar) + Shadow Walker(Back Bar) + Balorgh + 2 pc Agility. Max HP+Stam+Mag Food

You might be wondering why I am suggesting a sustain for the second set instead of another damage set. It is simply because you can go all out on damage on everything else with Shadow Walker and still have excellent sustain and healing capability, which can cover up a lot of the weaknesses of a traditional ganking build. Unlike other Onslaught gank builds, this can actually also fight outside of ganks if needed.

Reason for not opting for Sword Swinger is simply because it only helps with the Onslaught gank and nothing else.

Automaton is better if you are chain-ganking(in which case, I would also try to find room for Reaper's Mark for Major Berserk). Otherwise Clever Alchemist is better.

Race-wise, I would go Khajiit as for any gank build, getting higher critical hit damage is always better as it directly counter acts enemy Impen, which is a far higher increase to damage than Weapon damage. Also I have 8.4k Weapon damage with Continious Attack, with still one stamina regen enchant on jewelry, which means I can go near 9k Weapon Damage without it.

2 pc Agility is better than Master Bow here, as we are bar swap cancelling the heavy bow attack to get Minor Berserk from Camo Hunter, which is huge when combined with Minor Vulnerability.

I have great magicka sustain for near perma-cloak as well.

My Onslaught tooltip max outs at 36k.

Combo is Bow Heavy->Bar-swap cancel to Ambush->Heavy Attack for 10% extra damage->Cloak for even higher damage and guaranteed crit->Onslaught

Awesome advice guys. I didn’t know alchemist didn’t proc out of combat.

@jaws343 will the extra weapon damage on balorgh proc with the initial hit of the ultimate? Also, would you recommend Orc or Khajit?

Yes, Ballorgh procs and the initial hit of your ult gets that bonus damage.

Plus any combo that requires bar swap is going to be a pain to pull off with all the lag right now, lol.
