OK, you’re scaring me now. I just read the PC patch notes. No mention of a performance fix. In fact, no mention of anything of real consequence. I better not be downloading an 18GB update for “improved window lighting for homes in Elsweyr”. Lol.4 -

You were correct the first time.
In ESO, an Update is a quarterly set of changes/improvements/fixes to the base game. Updates are usually accompanied by a DLC; Updates are numbered (currently in Update 22) but often referred to by the optional DLC name.
Patches are intermittent downloads of fixes/corrections to the base game client. Consoles are receiving a patch today.
Hotfixes are rare fixes/corrections to the base game on the server side only and do not require downloading a patch for the game client.
